Hi everyone, I'm quite active in this Online Risk game, and I would like to join the Society of Cooks to learn the ways of conquering. For I have played many games and I've only won one. So with all my respect I'd like to join this profound society.

CC n00b here! New.

Post by Engarde »

Hello all,

I'm new here and so far, I'm getting my ass kicked :-)
I came on this site because I really like the Risk game, but the pc version is not really offering challenge and is overall quite in favor of the computer opponents. Here, it's pretty much vice versa. The few times I thought I had a good start and was growing quite a force, my opponent missed turns to receive more inforcements. Not three times in a row though, but miss 1 turn, be active the next, miss another turn. So, before I knew it, the game was already decided and certainly not in my favor. It took a bit of fun out of the game for me but I also realised I am new here and don't know squat about strategies used on CC. So, any help would be greatly appreciated. Is there a forum, thread I should join? I read something about classes and teachers but still find things confusing.

Thanks!

nice to meet you skip ! I'm not an authority figure or a leader of men , but I have over 4 years experience of game play in CC ...
I would suggest :
don't go out and try to kill Majors and Generals ! these guys will rip you apart ! many of them feed on new players , like you .
don't jump into maps you don't understand .
don't play game settings you don't understand .
KEEP IT SIMPLE !
feed on other beginners like yourself ! ... you stated that you know the game , many of them don't ! ;) ;)
play to win , don't feel sorry for the poor sap your playing even if he begs for mercy .
don't taunt your foe , don't break your promises if you make truces or alliances .
* limit the time a truce or alliance will last , this will allow you to get out or extend said agreements *
and last but not least ! .... PLAY WITH HONOR !!!!
don't be the @ss hat that no one wants to play again !!

I hope that helps :D

Well spoken, ganguscalm!

skipopidid, I`m an instructor of the Society of Cooks. I was a nob before I came to The SoC - one year ago, actually, I was pretty much a nob.

The SoC train newers the basics of escalating card games. Why not start taking a course at The SoC? You need the basics down to trap higher ranks that think you`re points donor.

As ganguscalm said, there`s lots of players out there that want your points even you`re a beginner. Many of them don`t even know how to play right. They lose against skilled players. They`re high rank cause they are fed on easy points from beginners else they`re nothing.

Hello, I'm a new member and would really appreciate some training. My family has been pretty much kicking my butt and rubbing my nose in it. I want revenge! This game rocks!! I'm 44 years old and never have played risk so I'm somewhat lost and in need of your expert advice. Thanks, mackadoo

Hi, I received an invite from Wacicha when I got my promotion to private. I've played CC games now for a couple months and am interested in learning terminator style and other variations of the classic game as well as honing up on the different stategies being used by all the current society members who have beaten me. Thanks and please accept my application to become the newest member of the Society of Cooks.

Hi. I'd like to join the society of cooks because although i have won once or twice, i haven't found a good technique to win more efficiently (or more often).

You are now! I don't think we have any more jackets at the present, though.
