Well, I want them to be hard to get from another player, not necessarily from a stack of neutrals which never existed in the war. Even so, 2 isn't that tough.

Which is why 2 is a good number. Not too easy to take and yet just a tad bit tougher to take.

See... that's what I'm thinking. But I'm kind of afraid of the large amount of neutrals it will put on the map.

I really need to get an updated image up... tomorrow.

Ok, this should address the above mentioned concerns.

Okay, I've got some touch-up suggestions here, so that the first post is clean and clear.

(1) Is Heilongjiang a playable region? I don't see a troop number on it. The same with Zhejiang.

(2) Your breakdown of the map territories is incomplete. What would be helpful to know is how many regions (territories) are open on the drop, and how many would each player get on different settings.

(3) Add a list of the bonuses and the # of regions needed for each, if possible

1) Yes. I forgot the region number... same for Zhejiang.
2,3)
8 Commanders (starting positions).
31 Cities (+1 Autodeploy, Starting neutral 2)
3 Independent States (Neutral 3, Plus 1 for each)
Cities yield +1 per GMD commander (4 Commanders, 8 Cities)
Red territories yield +1 per CCP commander (4 Commanders, 8 territories)
Soviet/USA support adds +5 (neutral 8)
17 territories that are part of no Bonus

Total 'spaces': 86

Ummm, not to be nit-picky, but could you paste this information into the First Post of this thread? Also, include how many regions are open to deployment at the drop, so that the # of starting regions for a certain number of players is known. I count 25 deployable regions (counting the starting positions). If I haven't made a mistake then,

8 starting positions
17 other deployable regions

(list the # of starting positions/other regions for each game type- 8 players, 7 players, etc.)

Thanks,

Marshal Ney

P.S. If nobody has any concerns to raise in the next 24 hours (besides the current housekeeping on the first post) I'm going to sticky this

I posted it in the first post and yes, 25 territories open to deployment in round one, including commanders.

I just put this map in the latest Surveyor's Bulletin. I'd like more comment on the gameplay, just in case the legend isn't clear or there's something that I've missed. I'll see if ian or Tack can take a look at least. Anyway, if there are no issues brought up within the next four or five days, this is gettin' a stamp.

OK, a couple nitpicks about possible clarity issues in the legend.

(1) Tack noticed that you use the phrase 'All CCP commanders can..." but that CCP isn't defined anywhere. Elsewhere, you simply use the term Communist. I'm not sure if it will confuse or not...

(2) The legend instructions that say "... can attack their own Army Group..." might be confusing to people who aren't familiar with the hierarchy of modern military organization. Army Group might sound like the people who are in the same Army, as in, the other Commanders on their side. I think it might lead some people to believe that the Commanders on each side can attack each other.

Does anyone have any other feedback, good or bad, about the legend clarity?

Ok... so we're looking at possibly some additional legend space then explaining GMD and CCP (though I'm considering using the CPC abbreviation, thoughts?) and explaining what an Army group is... I've got the space on the right hand side legend. So it shouldn't be too difficult. Stay tuned for an update.

Looks good, the abbreviation in parentheses really helps.

As for the Army Group, no need to 'explain' it really, rather thinking on it, just putting the symbol next to the instruction would make it crystal clear. As in:
"All GMD Commanders
Attack USA Support
And Their Own
Army Group <put a miniature blue box with 'X' here>"

And similarly, put a miniature red box with an 'X' in the CCP set of instructions.

Anyway, I'll take silence for consent that this map is good to go. Barring any further comments, I'll stamp this tomorrow.

EDIT: It's tommorow :) Oh and btw, I didn't say but your explanation of Army Group was good, just gave the above suggestion if you wanted to save space.

Congratulations Industrial Helix =D> Hopefully this Red Invasion will revolutionize the CC masses and... well, you know the spiel.

Oh sweet... did not expect to see this in the graphics workshop. The next step for this map is make a base draft, like the one I've got, but where everything fits and is nice and neat. So stay tuned.

Now, there is an incentive to finish it... it will become playable in the future... I just need to straighten out Russian Civil War first.
