Can I steal a Map???

Post by DJPatrick »

Am going Awol for a month into the Oz nether-regions without elect let alone the net and want to know if I can steal/borrow the Feudal War Map to just print out (onto A3/A2) and play during the days dying embers...having been playing these pps for nearly 20 years now on both versions of the standard board game but either their getting better or they're spiking my drinks but is less and less fun...
Wanting to introduce Feudal Wars to screw with their minds (and their chance of winnning)...
Know I can do it technically and it's NO BIG hassle as no one else can see us but someone put a lot of effort into this and  as a muso I respect copyright so i'd like once off permission...just saying???

I don't see a problem if you only play it with your friends

But I would suggest World 2.1, there's a printable version available of it...

Also, neutral troops in general. You need a shitload of grey pieces.

you can probably find the name of the guy who made Fuedal war by searching for it on the map. then PM him and ask his permission.

I think the mapmaker sees the very existance of this thread as a great tribute to his work, so I doubt that he ([player]gimil[/player]) will complain. Just make sure you make them addicted and they come to the site. That'll solve all copyright issues.

To make sure that the Foundry People see this, I'm going to move this into the Foundry Discussions. Hopefully then, a Cartographer will see it and be able to give you an official answer on anything having to do with your map-related needs :)

From Graphics Guidelines:
The author retains copyright on their work, and gives Conquer Club permission to use the imagery free of charge, for as long as Conquer Club sees fit on the Conquer Club website. Conquer Club cannot sell, lease, or lend the right to use the images to anyone else. The author swears that their map is their own work, or a legal derivative work and by submitting it, do hereby claim all responsibility for that being true.

So technically you should ask to [player]gimil[/player]. ;)
