Dice Stats

After too many weeks of development and too many scheduled maintenance windows, we finally got this monster finished!

You can now access your own dice stats from the Personal Menu and other players' dice stats from their profile. Dice stats contains analysis of both dice distribution (how many 1's, 2's 3's, etc. were rolled) and battle outcomes (kills and losses from 3 vs 2, 1 vs 1, etc.). It tracks both assaults that you initiate and assaults against you by other players. You can compare recent stats with your overall stats, and look at how you fared against specific opponents.

Hopefully making the dice more transparent will busts the myths about dice not being random

25. How is luck calculated on my dice stats?

For dice distribution, luck is the actual average roll over the expected average roll (i.e. 3.5). Luck can range from -100% for an average roll of 1.00 to +100% for an average roll of 6.00.

For battle outcomes, luck is based on the ratio of kills over losses. For each type of battle (e.g. 3 vs 2, 1 vs 1, etc.) we know the expected ratio of kills over losses for both assault and defend based on the table below.

Luck is how many percentage points the actual ratio is above or below the expected ratio. To calculate total luck (i.e. assault + defend) we take a weighted average of ratios based on the amounts of assault battles and defend battles.

Red and green are used to emphasize negative and positive luck, respectively.

Finding Tournament Games

The huge tournament picklist in the Game Finder had to go. It make it very difficult to select a tournament and added hundreds of kilobytes to the page! Now you can type in any part of the tournament name to find matching games. We also added a handy [search tournaments] link that will take you to the Tournament Finder. On the Tournament Finder itself we added [find games] links to each match so you can get tournament games from that route as well.


Facebook & Twitter Widgets

The twitter widget was making headlines less visible so we moved it to the bottom of the Home page. This part of the Home page is also shared with a new facebook widget that shows who is a fan of our Facebook Page and what is going on there. Finally, we temporary added a "Like" button to the top of the website. Please take a moment to click the Like button, join our Facebook Page and follow our Twitter feed!

Black means you are hovering within +1 and -1 of expected averages / outcomes. When you go outside of the +1/-1 range, you start to see where you've got Good Luck (green) and Poor Luck (Red).

Click on the Help button at the top of this page (next to Shop), then scroll down to About the dice. Click on the questions to see the answers you seek. (I think red and green are just being used to emphasize negative and positive results, respectively. If your numbers are red and those of your opponents are green, Lady Fortune has turned her back on you, as she has done to me. )

Is there a way to get the stats for a single game? And just for a challenge (and so I can keep complaining ) how about a single round of a game?

The Dice Stats were starting to be recorded and stored a couple of months ago I think.

As for stats of a single game, if it is a recent game, you can access it by comparing your opponents and you. But once it moves out of your 'recentness' it gets added to the Overall data. There is just too much information to make it completely feasible store every dice roll on Conquer Club (think, at any given time, we have 20k active users, with 20k active games---imagine how many dice rolls that is!) but this tool allows you to get recent snapshots (which you can store, or someone may right a tool to store), and the overall Dice History.

if i type in a partial for the tournament i want it will give me the games from every tournament ever to have that partial in the name.

if i search for games via the tournament tab then i get every game for that tournament.

at least the old game finder allowed me to choose which tournament from the partial name i wanted before displaying the results. bring that back.

Very nice update and I like it, nice stats collector/shower and thanks ...

But 2 things I don't like:

1. Facebook like on top of each page takes a few seconds longer than rest of page to load. Pages get loaded impatiently but that little like box takes a few seconds and is annoying ...
It could be nice if it was only on homepage, not every page ...

2. Also blinking red NEW is on my nerve, it does not allow me to focus on my games, it could be so nice if it be only a red NEW text in place of blinking ...

You can do this, can't you, via the Tournament Finder? In the Tournaments Tab, in the Tournament Finder, you can use the partial to find all tournaments that match your entry, and then you can select the games you want, via the [Find Games] for the Tournament.

I completely disagree. The new searching system is far more intuitive and easier on the eyes. I would encourage greenoaks to be more exact with his search parameters.
