Thread Titles and Topic Icons [Official]

Post by MrBenn »

Since we introduced the coloured thread markers a little while back (Image Image Image Image), it is easy to differentiate between maps at different developmental phases and there is no longer a requirement to update the title with markers [D] [Gp] [Gr] [X] to represent the stamps a map has been awarded.

In order to help the CAs keep track of maps in development, please can mapmakers include the date [06 Jul 2011] of each update within the thread title. Please can people stick to this format [dd Mmm yyyy] in order to avoid confusion between American and European date formats :P

It is helpful to include the page of the thread that the last update is on, as well as including the most recent images in the first post using [img] or [/bigimg] tags (previous images should be switched to links)

To summarise, map thread titles should look like this:
Thread Title wrote:Map Name [dd Mmm yyyy] p1/5

If you're after feedback for something specific, then you can always add a suffix:
Thread Title wrote:Map Name [dd Mmm yyyy] p1/5 - Something for feedback?

Thank you for listening :)

Edit:
It would appear we never formally announced the topic icons; but for some time now (the phenomenon was first observed in this thread), the CAs have been adding the relevant topic icon to a map thread which correlates with one of the foundry stamps. The stamps must be obtained in sequence, so the colour indicates the developmental process of the map:

Image Red = Draft (once given the map is working towards the gameplay stamp)
Image Green = Gameplay (once given the map is working towards the graphics stamp)
Image Blue = Graphics (once given the map is working towards the xml stamp)
Image Yellow = XML (once given the map is practically ready for Beta play)
Image Grey = Beta (once given the map is in Beta and awaiting Final Quench)
