Re: Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia [19.7.11]
Drop shadow looks muuuuuuuuuuuuuch better in my opinion, if it was a little sharper like the terr names and title. But if you really like the glow I could live with it, maybe
.
What do you know about map making, bitch?

Re: Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia [19.7.11]
They look the same to me, ha. I think the title has improved now, and I love the mini-map.
I think the playable and nonplayable texture is also pretty optimal as it is now.
The army bubbles look kind of strange, but otherwise I'm starting to dig the map.

If they legends have been causing problems you don't even need them, just list continents the old fashioned way.

Meh, then I'd have to worry about colourblind-compatible colours, and I want to keep the current colour scheme.

I'm not sure what you're getting at with that...

looking better. maybe try something like this, but with your background paper - I like its colour, so if you can lift up upper right corner...

Sorry to be difficult, but I actually prefer the newer minimap
That said I am happy with the original version as well. I do like the flat behind the title thou.

i think it would look even better if it didn't end in a straight vertical line.

Yeh, i thought that also DiM (but didn't record it), perhaps the colours could be extended to fade behind the title.

I'm with gimil on this one, though the black 'splotch' in the bottom-left corner doesn't look right at all.

Re: Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia [19.7.11]
After some consideration, a "night" of sleep (as if we even get nights here atm) etc. I've decided not to go back to the poster.
What I wanted to do with the poster was basically make it so that it looks like it was plastered on the wall, but I just wasn't able to find the right kind of paper, nor was I able to get the shading, etc. just right - then I would have also needed to make the paper tear off, and at that point it started to seem like more trouble than it was worth... I've come to discover it's much easier to create really, really old paper than it is to make a paper that is somewhat old but not much.
So I think I will be going with this more conventional minimap - it's not just because the paper thing was hard to do, it's also because this seems to fit the style of the map better.
Anyway, here's a new version with flag issues & left corner issues fixed -

Re: Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia [20.7.11]
sorry me, but the flag where you have it now looks bad. there is enough title of the map.
try add flag under small legend anyway. or forgot it, I think.

Re: Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia [20.7.11]
I still think the black spot in the bottom-left just looks horribly out-of-place. It looks like a torn piece of paper (in a strange way...), but the texture makes the background look more like concrete, which I prefer (mainly due to the fact that the aged paper background is nearing overdone).

Check your monitor settings. It's not black, it's blue. Like, the ocean.

I don't see the SFRY emblem fitting the colour scheme of the map.
