liamrisksmart wrote:sorry SirSebstar but you missed the point i was discussing in my post completely. i/everyone know/s what topics can be included in bigotry, my post was about 'when' does something become bigotry and not just a conversation on touchy subjects.

the point is
Bigotry, just avoid it. Just do it.
. Don't do it, you can discuss touchy subjects all you like, but if you are going to resort to comments just or designed to hurt, you have already crossed to line.

I was recently asked why I ignored a dude who was a holocaust denier. He thought I HAD to be “rationale” about it and examine the “facts”(facts according to him anyways) only. No I don’t.

Saying you are a black olderly gay female quadriplegic of jewich/asian/Eskimo desent, and therefore incapable of having a vote, that might be touchy, but in this case fun. However, it is not about what you think is funny if you depress the hell out of me. Just think a little and use common sense. Yes you can discuss the Palestinian/Israelian troubles whatever you like, but if you resort to bigotry, you will get nailed.
Remember ,there is no middle ground. You don’t HAVE to write it.

the odds of picking a a subject that your oppenent feels personally embaressed or insulted by is very slim.

on the up side such conversations often challange people to think, or gives them an oppertunity to learn about something they previously didnt think much about, or even if they did consider it it may give them a new perspective. Too often subjects are shunted. This is never good, ignorance breeds most things evil.

Even if people are prudes or just fustrated at not being able to express their views in words, it still serves well to challange. fear of going to far should not be used to evade good debate.

"I forgot to take my pills this morning, but I'll make up for it by slaughtering every last one of you treacherous dogs."

"Doomed, you're all doomed I tells ya!"

"I wish you all the best of luck in coming second."

A friend of mine once attacked a country only for the attack to go bad (as we've all had happen to us before) and posted this before the inevitable retaliation:

"O great and merciful ruler, please forgive the actions of my idiot Prime minister, we have chopped his head off and are posting it in a box as I write this, ever so sorry the whole thing happened lets just forget about it ay?"

If you are playing someone of a much higher rank than yourself:

"Your troops look like killbots to me. Luckily, killbots have a preset kill limit. Knowing their weakness, I'll send wave after wave of my own men at them until they reach their limit and shut down." -- Zapp Branigan, Futurama inspired.

It's a discussion about a topic, though, qwert. I can't pose a question in GD?
