Re: Tokyo [17 Jul 2011]
Congrats!! Come on though, every hospital room has wifi these days, and that's why they make laptops. Just kidding.
Re: Tokyo [17 Jul 2011]
Actually, it was a homebirth! and I updated a few days after (I had her on the 14th). But it's kinda hard to draw careful pictures when holding a squirming baby in one hand, who could explode in cries any minute.

Re: Tokyo [16 Aug 2011]
Thanks everyone
Just to keep things active:
I've swapped the beer hall for the Tokyo Skytree. I don't know what to do about the bridges: the black lines were temporary as I worked out gameplay. I don't know whether to try bridges like on Vancouver (I sketched one in here), which I find are very easy to understand visually, or to go for something more complicated in a similar theme to the rainbow bridge. I am just boggled by all the angles of different bridges, and there's so many, I can't imagine drawing them all in differently. I wanted the Rainbow Bridge to be special, and the rest to be dull and uncomplicated.
And there are other things I need to do .. a few mentioned the parks/landmarks bonus explanation blending in .. all in time.

I'm sure I mentioned fixing some of the tiny attraction pictures, just no idea how I would or if they really need it.
And of course, thank you all for your input and patience

The lower right corner looks like the legend! I'm confused
!

yes, the lower right corner is confusing
also:
the legend park has other graphics than the actual parks on the map
wakasu industrial zone name overlaps wakasu seaside park

Re: Tokyo [17 Jul 2011]
Maybe you could put the bonus descriptions up top! That way it might not look like some parts of the map are a part of the legend.
Re: Tokyo [17 Jul 2011]
When I was talking about the bridges, I wasn't meaning you need to change each one to be different. Just change the black line to be something like a bridge. What you've got for the Monzen-Nakacho / Moon Island connection would be fine.

Thanks MrBenn (3 weeks ago)
Updated bridges. Please ignore parks/landmarks in legend, it's a work in progress. Just figured I should update once in a while
Will find time to do more.

Why one special bridge?
Re: Tokyo [17 Jul 2011]
Said bridge doubles as a landmark. To not have it different would be inconsistent with all the other landmarks.
As for the update, definitely better bridges than the black lines. Are the other bridges in Tokyo rather boring affairs unlike the Rainbow Bridge?

Ok so it's a landmark. Wasn't obvious to me!

Honestly I don't know! I guess I can always get on street view and see what's what. From what I've seen, many are low metal bridges, but I am the first to admit I do not know the city so very well. Rainbow Bridge was a name that felt instantly familiar, like Tokyo Tower.

Re: Tokyo [17 Jul 2011]
I'm happy with the gameplay mechanics on this map, shakey. The clarity isn't a big issue, but the lower legend seemed to not be separated enough from the map itself... is that still an issue (asking the community here)?
In any case, I just want to confirm that you're still in gear to work on this, as I'm preparing my green stamper. Perhaps, I only ask because you've got a newly born bundle of energy- I mean distraction- I mean joy!- to feed/love/tickle

THis looks pretty good - I like that it's completely different in style from anything else already in play.

Re: Tokyo [17 Jul 2011]
i hope you'll find a way to make the territory names fit inside the territories, because some territories have their name get overlapping bordering territories and that looks ugly to me.
for the rest it's an awesome map.

Zimmah,
Would it be all right if I turned the names diagonally on some?

Re: Tokyo [17 Oct 2011]
Hi mate,
Good work here. I love the look of this map. The only issue that is coming to mind this that some terr/continent arn't centered properly, or are to close to borders. I believe you mentioned this issue earlier. If you can update and change the positioning of any territories names you have issue with, I can take a once over to find if there is any others you may have missed.
After that we can get you to make a small version and try and get you stamped
Cheers,
gimil
