People who try and trick u into thinking they will dead beat
So Im sure this is a reasonably common thing but wondered if it would be a good idea to publicly state the names of the people who do this? I realize its not exactly cheating but in my opinion it is incredible bad sportsmanship, it wastes time, and I know for a fact this tactic does work sometimes.
It is when a player (player A) in a speed game effectively tries to trick their opposition (player B) into thinking they will deadbeat only to return 2 rounds or so later in the hope that player B hasnt stuck around to finish the game off for one reason or another and upon returning without actually dead-beating player A ends up winning in a very deceitful way!
If this is not the correct forum for this post please direct me to the correct place because I would very much like to name the players which have tried this on me, and also give others the opportunity to do so as well.
Cheers

Are you kidding me? How can you call this an abuse report if you won't even say who you are accusing?

Advice is to foe them and not play against them again. Maybe they aren't doing it purposefully and did not realize the speed game started?
If they are missing turns, dont play recklessly to try and eliminate them. Play as if they WILL come back in round 3 and have 6+ deferred troops. If they miss the third round then you win anyway, so no rush in trying to eliminate them

@ yazoochick - thanks for you constructive input - read my post next time. I noted I wasnt sure if this was the correct place to post - and I also stated I would name people when I knew the forum was appropriate.
@MoB Deadly - yup I see you point, and I usually do as you have suggested but the most recent case I was involved in the guy said good game and said he had to go - he then missed 2 rounds so you'd have to be pretty out there to suggest that is an honest mistake. I believe this is not an uncommon tactic by deceitful players in speed games as really they have nothing to lose - hence why I thought starting a forum to name these players in public is the only way to go.
@ Evil Semp - cheers - I wasnt sure what forum this should go in.

Don't foe em just beat them. Shame on you to let an opponent beat you mentally.
Re: People who try and trick u into thinking they will dead
who said I let them beat me?
Re: People who try and trick u into thinking they will dead
happened to me too, it's on the edge of cheating and t's indeed very bad sportsmanship.

I did this the other day, but it wasn't a malicious thing. I got distracted during a speed game, and then came back to discover my opponent (who was way in the lead due to my distraction) had disappeared. I felt a little bad, but I still took the win.
In conclusion, suck it up princess.

@Timminz Its different bro if you didnt do it purposefully, and of course the other player needs to take responsibility for securing their own win. However Its still a shit thing to do (especially if you do it on purpose). It wastes time for one - and its dirty play for 2. If everyone feels the same way as you then I guess CC goes on as is and accepts this kinda play, but I would have thought there was a bit more respect for the game here than that. Your opinion is what it is though, and I think your last sentence speaks volumes.

It might be dirty but the goal is to win...It's a legitimate last resort play, in my opinion, if all other hope is lost.

Re: People who try and trick u into thinking they will dead
Wow, I didnt realize there were so many people who thought this tactic was OK. Guess I was wrong, I figured people would have a bit more integrity, but I guess some do what ever it takes to win.

Demonfork - so have you/ would you use this tactic?

I view this game as a war... have you ever heard the saying "all is fair in love and war"?
I agree that it's a dirty play but war is also dirty.
If you are a good enough player you will make sure to see the game to the end and never let your guard down, therefore if you are a good enough player and you have vigilance, this tactic will never work on you, it will only work on the players that let their guards down.
To answer your question, If I was in a situation where I felt that this tactic would work (sensed some weakness in my opponent) I would probably give it a go.

Re: People who try and trick u into thinking they will dead
Yup, I see where you are coming from but lets not kid ourselves, its not about "sensing" weakness in opponents, its a blatant last ditch effort to underhandedly win the game by lying to try to trick your opponent. There's no possible way you could pre empt this strategy by sensing any weakness in the opponent. It just comes down how far you'd go to win, and by what means you go to do it. If you want to lie and play dirty then so be it I guess, but be honest about the motives for the use of the strategy and dont pretend you can sense weakness.
