[spoiler=TOURNAMENT INFO]Here it is the Official UEFA Champions League 2011-2012 season and i'm looking for some of CC’s top Doubles teams to get involved in this…

Just in case u don’t, know the Champions League is a tournament that involves the best 32 Club Football (Soccer for the yanks) teams in Europe. Its the cream of the crop of world club football; a tournament that starts off with 32 teams, in 8 groups of 4 teams. Each team play each other twice (home and away) with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. So each team is guaranteed 6 games, 3 home and 3 away matches, and at the end of these games the 1st and 2nd placed teams in each of the 8 groups will advance to the knock-out stages of the tourney and we will go 16 - 8 - 4 - 2 - Champions!!!

Tournament Concept:
I want to try and replicate the proper football match experience with this tournament and allow for draws to occur so each Doubles team will choose their home map and settings and also split up for 2x 1v1 games and pick a map each(from the approved maps below) VERY IMPORTANT---------- for the 1v1 games the settings will be Auto, Sequential, Chained, Escalating, Sunny

So the match kicks off......(whistle)....1st half u play ur Doubles game...(midfield)...the winners advance forward and play 2x 1v1 games on their chosen maps...(forwards) and the losing team have to split up and stop them from winning these games....(defenders)
if the attacking teams win both their 1v1 games thats....2-0...if they win 1....1-0 and if they lose both...0-0....then ref blows his whistle.....end of first half.....then repeat for second half...this will allow for a maximum win margin of 4-0 or the possibility of other scorelines….2-1, 2-2, 1-0, 0-0…and so on and most importantly allow for draws to occur, So even if u are the away team and lose both Doubles games (one in each half) u could still win all the 1v1 games and come away with a draw

my.....BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE 2011-2012.....tourney should already be familiar with this Concept

Game Format:
So each game week will involve 2x Doubles games on the home teams map and settings and 4x 1v1 games (on home or away teams maps depending on the team that wins the Doubles games)

GROUP STAGE
Every team will play a guaranteed 6 games (3 home & 3 away)…after this the top 2 teams from each group will advance to the Knock-Out stage (if teams are tied then it will be decided on Goal Diff----goals for minus goals against)

KNOCK-OUT STAGE
From the last 16 until the semi-finals, clubs play two matches against each other on a home-and-away basis. In the last 16, group winners play runners-up other than teams from their own pool or nation, while from the quarter-finals on the draw is free. In the Knock-Out stage the winner will be the club which scores the greater aggregate of goals, with away goals and then penalties used to determine the winner in the event of a draw, if u do not know how the away goal rule works please read below…

If after the two legs the score in the tie is level on aggregate, the team with the most goals scored away from home qualifies for the next round

In the unlikely event that its still a draw after the away goal rule than a penalty shoot-out will decided the tie…this shall be done by a best of 5 on the 1v1 maps....first team to win 3 1v1 games advance to next round of tourney...I will send 4 games first on each teams 1v1 maps and if still tied after this will do 1 random 1v1 game to decided it

FINAL
The final is decided by a single match….to make it fair the two teams to make it to the final will play one half on there home map & one half on opponents map..if drawn at the end of the game we will go to penalty shoot-out

Every doubles team that signs up must choose their home Map & Settings and each member of the team must chose a 1v1 map to play on….

VERY IMPORTANT ---------- for the 1v1 games the settings will be Auto, Sequential, Chained, Escalating, Sunny-------also I have made a list of Maps in spoiler below that are the only maps allowed for the 1v1 games…please choose from here…I have picked the maps I believe give the most even game play in a 1v1 game…I don’t mind if players chose the same maps


Tournament Info:
  • 32 Doubles teams, 64 players
  • 2x Doubles and 4x 1v1 games played each week
  • Round Robin Style – followed by Knock-out Stage
  • Opponents will be chosen by following the regular season calendar
  • No point restrictions
  • any team that all members fail to join there weekly game within 48 hours face the chance of forfeiting that weeks game and just like RL footie the other team will get a 3-0 victory for that week, please PM me if there are any issues with team-mates or risk forfeiting


So every Doubles team that signs up must pick:
  • Pick ur home Doubles map and settings
    Now I don’t want to limit this to much but no maps or settings that encourage long games please…..NO FREESTYLE
  • List ur two 1v1 maps and players (from the approved maps above)
    All these 1v1 games will be played on Settings: Auto, Seq, Escalting, Chained, Sunny…Again I want to encourage these games to be quick
  • Request a team..
    I say request because there are no guarantees which team u will play as, if u really don’t care which team u play as and are just up for a good tourney then just say so but if u prefer to play as one of the 32 champions league teams then post ur choice….because the groups are already set in stone I will seed teams by there total points and then put into one of the 8 groups


Tournament Awards:
Tournament Achievement Medal will be awarded to the team that wins the Final….
Also I will request a General Achievement Medal for the player that gets the Golden boot (scores the most goals)

  • Join games within 48 hours
  • No freemiums

Cheers guys.....ur all in.....just come back and update ur OP when u are ready.........as for the teams selected I cant guarantee anybody a chosen team but will do my best to accommodate everyone....I wont to make sure there is a good balance of teams in each group so there will be a seeding based on team points total.....

anyway it should work out alright....It might be a problem when a couple more teams want to be Barca, Madrid, Man U.....etc...

Nice 1.....u are all in....just quick reminder as I see some people have requested 1v1 maps that are not in the approved list and also settings for the 1v1 games......

VERY IMPORTANT ---------- for the 1v1 games the settings will be Auto, Sequential, Chained, Escalating, Sunny-------also I have made a list of Maps in spoiler below that are the only maps allowed for the 1v1 games…please choose from here…I have picked the maps I believe give the most even game play in a 1v1 game…I don’t mind if players chose the same maps

yeah I was going to do a Europa league Tourney in honor of Rovers but Champions League seem like a better choice....So Conchobar and I talked about it and where like feck it lets just drop one of the lesser teams in the Champions league and put Rovers in instead....

So no Apoel and Shamrock Rovers all the way......

I almost put down the Rovers as our team but then thought I wanted to play as a real football club ;)
