yes, i agree, the last effect was better- but reshaped borders look great

also not sure bout good hope... tho if the kid knows bout the east indian trading company then theres no reason not to know bout the cape.
maybe play off the "cape" idea?
Do you need an excuse to have a war? I mean, who for? Can't you just say "You got lots of cash and land, but I've got a big sword, so divy up right now, chop chop."

Psst.... Pssssst.... The password is Draft 12:
Image

Issues addressed:
- ) Territory bounds are back to the old effect (or at least a similar one that at least looks slightly better)
- ) Good Hope changed once again, to Conga.
- ) The positive message is back, and I've finally found a use for the lines
- ) Brand-spanking new Wit brand
- ) And, yes... Title.

Issues not addressed:
- ) USA-Canada border is still detached -- from a gameplay standpoint it doesn't technically have to go all the way, but I'll probably end up attaching it anyway
- ) Can't think of any cute way to misspell "Bonuses"
- ) If enough people vote for Conquer Club Jr. before the next update, I'll change the title; personally, I think the latter suits the theme better, but definitely World 0.5 has appeal.
- ) Any other brilliant ideas

Boneses?

Also, in the interest of having more territories, you could connect Canada to the compass, Andy's Mountains to the Wit symbol, Conga to the sea monster, Europe (which I think would be better off spelled "Yurop" :P) to the plane, Arabia to the boat, the World 0.5 Title to Iceland, and More Russia to the sun. That would give you 7 more territories for 25, which is a good number that minimizes neutral count for any number of players.

Also, maybe every "special" country (i.e. compass, title, etc.) gives a +1 bonus?

Yeah, but that's more a corruption of "bones", and that is just plain contrary to the message.

Nice. I like the new crayon effect. Good combination of the previous two styles.

Two minor graphical issues:
- All of the lowercase 'a's are lighter than other letters, which I like. However, the new crayon style makes them stand out much more than in previous versions. As a result, there is a noticeable repetitiveness in names with more than one 'a' (Canada, Sarah Desert, Arabia, etc). It might be better if some other letters in those names were lightened instead of some of the 'a's, or even if one of the 'a's in each name was darkened a bit so they don't all look the same.
- The "AL" in Australia is a bit too close to the caret (insertion symbol). Right now, the 'L' and the caret seem to form a single box or up arrow (depending on how you look at it). I think it would help to move it a few pixels either downwards or to the right, whichever looks better.

for "bonuses" how about a backwards "s" or "e"? and for that matter you could scatter them around the territory names as well.

There's a line through the Z in Brazil. I know some people write their Zs that way, but not a 7 year old child. I'm not going to make you change it, just keep it in mind.

Conga is a better name but I think we can make a better name. Donkey Conga?

I know it's been put to a vote and everything, but... how about calling it something like 'map of the world what I drawn' or 'look mummy, i conkered the world'. Failing that I vote for 'Conker Club Junior'.
I agree about dropping the 'East' from India, too. Or if this kid is from britain, just call it 'Chickin Tika'
You could spell it 'Bonusses'.
Maybe drop the 's' from Americas, too
Looks great, I love it!
[edit] to decrease continent confusion, you could rename the 'Europe' territory 'Mexican speakers' or 'speak Mexican'

Yay, Donkey Konga!

Besides that it looks ok, but you shouldn't really look for more territories, it would take fun from it even if they are still few)
Bonuses can be Bonises, Bonusis, Bunoses.... (you get the picture)

I'm still not sure about having more territories, and I don't think the numbers would fit on those very well anyway. As to Yurop, as
nagerous wrote:I don't know if this is a problem but there might be confusion about the country europe alongside the continent europe
I think I'll just misspell one of the "Europes" and solve two problems at once. Sort of.

D'y'know, I think you're the first person to suggest that this child is British... I've been thinking the same thing, since it's the only English-speaking country that he's gotten consistently right. Of course, maybe not.

You have to raster the text first, then edit it manually. Use a marquee tool to highlight the 'S" then transform > horizontal. Or the equivalent in what ever program you are using.

If you can raster the text, the just manually edit it after you save as a jpg, and re-save. Couldn't be easier.
