50 Point Drop I [rescued]
This tournament has been rescued. New thread: viewtopic.php?f=91&t=172161&start=0
Welcome to the 50 Point Drop!
This 1v1 tournament is based on the UK TV programme Million Pound Drop Live, and its American version, Million Dollar Money Drop.
Open to premiums and freemiums, but you must keep 3 slots open at all times. 97%+ attendance please.
Settings
1v1
Auto, Sequential, Casual
Escalating, Chained, No Fog
No Round Limit
Concept and Rules
Every player will start with 50 points. In each round you choose where to place your points (all on 1 map, or spread across 2 or 3 maps); any points that are not placed will be lost. Rounds 1-4 have a choice of 4 maps; you can choose to play up to 3 maps. Rounds 5-7 have a choice of 3 maps; you can choose to play up to 2 maps. Round 8 (Final Round) has a choice of 2 maps; in this round you can only choose 1 map.
If you win the game on a map, you keep the points and take them to the next round. If you lose the game, the points are lost. It is up to you how you split your points.
For example, if you are very confident you can win on a map, you might place 30 points on that map, 15 on a less familiar map, and the final 5 points on a third map just in case you get horrible dice in the other games.
If you run out of points, you are eliminated from the tournament. If more than one player completes all 8 rounds, the player with the most points will win the tournament.
Rounds
Round 1

Round 2

Round 3

Round 4
Maps: Iceland, Peloponnesian War, Castle Lands, South America
Round 5
Maps: Europe, 13 Colonies, Woodboro
Round 6
Maps: Caribbean Islands, Classic, Age of Merchants
Round 7
Maps: Triple Alliance, Europa, USA
Round 8
Maps: USA West, High Seas
When planning the tournament, I drew up a list of suitable 1v1 maps. I then used random.org to determine which 27 maps would be used in this tournament. If a second edition of the tournament runs, I will use random.org again to create a new list.

All games will be assigned randomly within the pool of players who chose each map. If there is an odd number, one player will play against me. I am not competing in the tournament.

All games must be joined within 3 invites. Failure to do so will result in elimination from the tournament.

At the beginning of each round I will send everyone a PM asking how their points are to be distributed. If I do not receive a reply within 72 hours, your points will be lost and you will be eliminated from the tournament.
Important Tournament Notice
The data for ALL of my tournaments has potentially been lost. I am working to recover it but as I am away on business all of this week, there will be some delay. Sincere apologies.
