This is pretty great. Endorsed. You know, if only you owned or could get the licenses to all the BPotW. I could see them making a great coffee table book, right up there with a coffee table book about coffee tables.
Though, there is something sort of eerie about it...I think it is the Pixar like style of the image. Haha. **Munches on banana**

AoG for President of the World!! I promise he will put George W. Bush to shame!
--------------------------------------- Scientists are developing a way to extend the life of bananas with a spray-on coating made from chitosan—a substance found in crab and shrimp shells. The new gel can be sprayed on bananas to slow the ripening process by up to 12 days.
Like other fruit, bananas remain alive after being picked and they actually continue to respire. This means they take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide. The more the banana breathes the faster it ripens and then rots. Bananas ripen more quickly than most fruit because they don’t naturally slow the respiration after being picked, in fact it speeds up, giving bananas their notoriously short shelf life.
Chitosan not only kills the bacteria on banana’s skin that then leads to rot, it also significantly slows down the respiration in the first place. ---------------------------------------

S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. Some people, especially baritones, should quit singing alltogether.

She would be classified as several levels way beyond anexoric. It's almost "wasp" like.

This seems backwards. I would have thought they would take in CO2 and exhale O like the plant.

They're taking in oxygen to help them convert sugars into energy, and releasing carbon dioxide.
"The quicker a fruit or vegetable respires, the quicker it ripens. For most fruits, the respiration rate slows down after the initial growth stage and the fruit ripens slowly. The growth and ripening process of bananas, however, is different. Although at first the banana’s respiration slows down too, when it’s ready to ripen, the banana’s pulp releases a chemical that increases respiration. This converts the starches in the banana to sugars and gives it its fabulous taste.
With all this respiration, the banana eventually processes all the starches available. And that’s when it begins to die. Those brown spots are rot and decay."
