This tournament will be composed of 16 doubles teams. The teams will be divided into 4 pools and will play a round robin within it (1 game against each team). The top team from each bracket will advance into the semifinals with the other 3 winners and play a single elimination bracket style game with the winners facing off for the win in the finals.
In the case of a tie within the brackets, the winner will be decided by whoever won the game against the other team. In the case of a 3 or 4 team tie, all teams will compete in a single 6 or 8 player doubles game and the winner of that game will advance.

Here’s the twist: Each team will be composed of a “mentor” and a “noob”. The noob has to be a player with fewer than 200 games completedm have a score of less than 1500 points, and not have any teammate medals; the mentor can be anyone who surpasses those requirements. Players can either sign up as a team or a single.

The winning mentor will receive a tournament medal for winning the “Train a Noob” tournament and the winning noob will receive a tournament medal for winning the “Trained Noob” tourney.

All games will be on the classic map with CC settings.

Once again, I entreat everyone to please sign up for both this tournament and the “Make a Champion” tournament.
