Thanks. I think it will be a much better year. One thing about loss is you can't lose the same person twice. You just have to deal with it and live on.

Incidentally, here's a description of my "Panto" which I sent out for publicity purposes today.

Arrr! is a family show in the long-standing and riotous tradition of British "Panto".
Our hero, Jim Ladd, has to rescue Mary-Ann, the love of his life, from the clutches of Captain Beardy and his villainous pirates, and win her hand and the approval of her father the grumpy mayor.
There's ghosts, treasure, bananas, a dancing cow, and Sirocco the goddess of the winds.
It's more than a performance - the audience cheer, sing, hoot and holler.
Adults love it just as much as the kids.

Good on you Jonesy.

Since King Achilles erased my career diary and clan forum I guess I'll celibrate in this thread.

I passed the simple written test to get my pilot's licence back. One more flight and hopfully I'll get my log book signed off. Then I'll have private license privileges again for at least five years unless I lose my medical. Yay!

Yowza. What sort of plane do you fly? And what's the longest/farthest trip you've piloted? Do you plan to ever trace Amelia's route?

Mostly the Cessna-172. The longest trip I flew was back around 1995. I took my dad and brother from CYBW near here to DCA Washington DC, so we could hang around the smithsonian and the national mall.

In small planes the last leg of Amilia's trip is still too risky. Although GPS would make Fred's job much easier.

I would like to fly from here to Russia and carry on to London then hang around in France. Flying is pretty expensive though and that's part of why I had a break and my licence lapsed. It's tougher than ever to get sponsorship.
