Deadbeats and points
I know we have already talked a lot about deadbeats and whether or not those of us who stay in should be able to get point from them and that the general concensus is that we shouldn't because we didnt do anything to beat them. Well i am sick of people joining games and then not doing anything else, never moving again. It pisses me off that newbs or expericned players who either think they can't win and thus will just stop playing, or just plain forget, make me wait for three days to get a game going. Now i know nothing can be done about deadbeats in general, but i purpose that points DO get taken away from them. The points dont even have to go to the winner, they can just be taken away to some limbo land of lost points... I DONT CARE. But there needs to be some way of discouraging these people from doing this.
Thank you
Thank you
After their sorry asses have been booted from a game, I think as you, GOD, that they should be penalized.
Anyone playing these deadbeats should get some compensation for beating them, too.

The ground was rushing up at me. It had been one heck of a ride. And suddenly I wondered………

yes but then people who go deadbeat so they dont loose points in that game will also go unpunished... and thats not fair... they are to much of wimps to actually try and playing out their game and see if they could win

I really disagree with you. I see sergents and lieutenants playing deadbeats to avoid losing points. I has become a fairly anoying tactic that some people that have not guts use to make shure that they keep their high score without having to play fair games.
They should loose doubles points. If it is people that will never return to the site...well they will never see the difference, but the ranked players that use it as a tactic would be obligated to play if they don't want to loose even more points that they would do by playing.
I think some of you dont know what is a deadbeat, I will explain to you.
A deadbeat is a person who dont played after 1st turn. In another words: if you kill a player before he takes his 2nd turn, he is a deadbeat; if he played two turns and after that was kicked out, you gain points. I also thougth the wrong thing, but this is the right.

Want a prove? See my game #3910. I "deadebeated", because my partner played 1st turn like a fool and dont played 2nd turn (before you ask me, yes, I think if you are partner of a deadbeat in doubles game you can deadbeat without remorse, even why it isnt against any rule). But he returned to play, was kicked out in round 10, and loses 22 points.
The partner of the true winner was also kicked out, but in round 9, wasnt a deadbeat and gained points too.
Some words about intentional deadbeat: I think its only valid in team games, Im not defending deadbeats at all, but... Why should a player waste his points? Why should the winner of a doubles game gain points of players that had no partner? Its the same idea of gaining points of deadbeats in standard games... Why gain points if you didnt need to do nothing (or almost nothing) to win?
And about this topic: I doubt a well ranked player gives up even before the second turn. So, if he gives up later, he lose his points anyway.

Deadbeat Question
Is there a good reason for deadbeats to not lose points? I've gone over every situation in my head, and I can't think of one. Thanks.
I cant believe... another topic about same thing.
We already discussed this recently. See the other topic:

After that, maybe would be a good idea delete this one.

Because if you join a game you should finish it. I'm sick of having 3 out of my 4 slots at a stand still because of idiots who just don't do anything.
Take points away!

Deadbeats
There has to be somthing done to deadbeats. It seems like people play the first round they things do not go there way so they kill all there men off trying to get a card. When this happens they realize they are not going to win and become a deadbeat so they do not lose points. I think points should be lost for deadbeats. Everyone else has to wait three days for the deadbeat, they should at the very least still lose points. Then at the very least they may play anyways and maybe this will teach them how to play and get better.
Just a thought

i see what your saying and it has happened to me as well....when a player doesn't like his situation, he doesn't play after round 1 and loses no points. Having deadbeats loose points can be good or bad. Obviously, they are punished or less likely to do it because they would lose points, but on the other hand, it would unfairly boost someones ranking if they happened to fall into a game with 3 deadbeats or something and they got a bunch of points and never really beat them....
What does WaW do? As our communities have mingled, it would be interesting to see how they handle this problem, if it exists over there...

Winners Get Points from Deadbeats
Okay, I know people have griped and moaned about this a lot before but I don't know if anything is done. in any case I just want to reiterate the fact that if a person is eliminated on turn 2 they shouldnt be considered a deadbeat! The other players get robbed of the points and the person essentially gets rewarded by havin no points lost for playing so badly. WAFFLES ANGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I didnt know that that happens. That does suck.
I agree with waffles. and the whole thing about being able to play in the first round but then stop and still be counted a s a dead beat, ive seen people start, realize they are in a sucky position and than not play anymore. i strongly believe they should still lose points if they go deadbeat.
