Definite grounds for C&A, I just hope C&A gets abolished before I can submit my full report.

Haha. Yes that was me and a co-worker once upon a time. I discovered CC and loved it. He tried it but couldn't handle the unlucky dice - as you can see from his barely coherent rant he was close to smashing his keyboard. We worked only a few desks away from each other and I would watch the veins pop out of his neck as he played. It was wildly entertaining but he didn't last long. Now I cant even remember what his PCE handle stood for - I think it was offensive...

I hope I'm not judged too harshly for game comments I made 5+ years ago. I was young and, like most people, I though anonymous online gaming was a reasonably safe place to vent frustration. Never in a million years did I imagine a scenario where I would find myself at the helm of this almighty empire. Part of the beauty of CC is that it can be so cruel and unforgiving when the luck runs against us. I love that simple graphics and random dice rolls can inflict so much joy and suffering into my life on daily basis. If it wasn't for the occasional fit of rage induced by CC I probably would have moved on long ago.

I will try to pop into the forums more often but I doubt my post count will ever reach a very respectable number. I am a lurker unless I feel I can add value to a conversation.

I'm sorry if everyone was expecting more dramatic changes right away. My goals have been a smooth transition and not to make any rash decisions that might piss people off. As it is, most of the really good suggestions are big changes that will require quite a bit of developer time.

I'm open to any suggestions for measuring my performance here - total # of games or total # of active players both seem pretty solid. Give me a few months to show some real improvements and then feel free to tear into me if you don't like the way things are going.

2007-11-27 12:25:52 - El_Jefe: north africa! i didn't see that coming!

2007-11-27 12:45:25 - ThePCE: Wow, you're trying to get Australia...shocker.
2007-11-27 12:48:45 - El_Jefe: wow. that was a romp
2007-11-27 12:50:42 - ThePCE: That was very frustrating...i last an unprobable number of times.

2007-11-27 13:28:44 - ThePCE: That's fucking bullshit, now the game is over because 7 Brazilian armied couldn't kill any of Peru's 4??? OMG!!!

2007-11-27 13:30:49 - El_Jefe: I think compu dice make me even angrier than real life dice.
2007-11-27 13:30:57 - El_Jefe: Right now I am happy though.
2007-11-27 13:31:00 - El_Jefe: Very happy.
2007-11-27 13:38:39 - ThePCE: It's over. That was bullshit how three bad rolls cost me a game. It was that close.
2007-11-27 13:44:24 - El_Jefe: So now its 3-2 Dave.
2007-11-27 13:47:03 - ThePCE: So now it's 3-2 Dave. Eat shit. You only win becasue of lucky rolls. Fucking sucks so bad it's sad

Interesting wording in one of El Jefe's early games. Who is Dave? That's not an Indonesian game. There must be a proxy.

they know each other in real life possible? ur looking up games from 5 years ago.. relax

El Jefe

I've been where you were.

I think new blood at the helm is a blessing. I have plenty of suggestions, but have never voiced them. At least now, we have someone whom we can communicate them to, instead of an invisible leader. Welcome aboard. =D>

As El Jefe has mentioned, our number one priority has been making sure the transition is smooth, so when his Team takes over, they don't need to back track. Additionally, we didn't think it was fair to continue to keep the Community in dark about why there has been a lull in updates and official feedback on items for the last while! I'm sure El Jefe and his Team, and Lack as well since he'll be around still contributing and update or two as well, tear into some of the great long standing suggestions. :D

Im late on my post, but after being a hunter for a few years and seeing the what goes into just a small portion of the site I know Lack and andy will be missed. This being said change I feel is always good from time to time. Not sure about this one as of yet but we will see. I know Rdsrds2120 to be a fair and understanding person and Im sure will do fine the the postion. Give EL_jefe a chance and im sure will do right by the site. Knowing the Staff here and working with them I know this wasnt done over night and im sure they have taken the time to weigh all options and decisions. Being here for as many years as I have I have seen alot of change. The days when there were only 6k in users now there are 600k. When there werent enough maps to fill up one hand. Wow the years have flown by. I say good luck to you EL_jefe and Rdsrds2120. For Lack and Andy I only hope the best for the both of you and I hope to see you on the battle field.

I'd like to say I'm sad to see Lack and Andy leave, but lets face it, lack checked out 5 years ago, and Andy should have checked out 5 years ago. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I'd also like to say I'm happy about this new ownership group, but the fact that they kept king achilles of all people on, is a absolute joke. Nothing will change for the better.

Now i'm off to cheers the departure of Lack and Andy.

Well if you are ok with corruption, you should have no problem with KA. But I've said too much. Have a wonderful day.

Slowly. I think that was more of a rhetorical statement about the fact that a couple of fixtures of this site were heading out. Think "revolution" in the sense of U.S. Pres. and Congress switching parties in an election not violent overthrow of a nation. The change is going to be incremental, we just hope that it will start heading in new directions and gaining steam.

There are number of business-ey items (transfer of accounts, etc) that have been a primary focus as they affect the actual ongoing maintenance and functioning of the website. But I think soon after the new web developer is more familiar with the underlying code and systems, you can all expect to see some tweaks and new items begin development. :D
