Again, my profound apologies for the delays. I'm still short on a few of my judges, but upon direction from RDS, I have gone ahead and tallied what votes I had, along with my votes and I am pleased to announce the winners for Sundog308's Last-Minute Lyrical Christmas Challenge! (AKA The-contest-where-everyone-wonders-if-anyone-really-won-or-if-it-was-just-a-really-early-April-Fool's-contest)

[spoiler=ENTRY 1 - betiko]

Based on the Christmas Carol “Oh Christmas tree”

Oh Conquer Club, Oh Conquer Club,
Thy crew this year is changing!
Oh Conquer Club, Oh Conquer Club,
Thy crew this year is changing!
No more Andy, Andy Dufresnes,
While Lackattack, is cold and drear.
Oh Conquer Club, Oh Conquer Club,
Thy crew this year is changing!

Oh Conquer Club, Oh Conquer Club,
value for money thou can give me;
Oh Conquer Club, Oh Conquer Club,
value for money thou can give me;
25 bucks a year, Is fine with me,
It afforded me the greatest glee!
Oh Conquer Club, Oh Conquer Club,
value for money thou can give me!

Oh Conquer Club, Oh Conquer Club,

Some members shine so brightly!
Oh Conquer Club, Oh Conquer Club,
Some others don’t think too sharply!
Oh Conquer Club, Oh Conquer Club,
There's always the SOC, team reme-dy!
Oh Conquer Club, Oh Conquer Club,
Will El_Jefe rule E-ficiently?

Oh Conquer Club, Oh Conquer Club,
How richly now Lack has to be!
Oh Conquer Club, Oh Conquer Club,
We thank him for creating thee!
Thou bidst us true and faithful be,
We may trust El_Jefe unchangingly.
Oh Conquer Club, Oh Conquer Club,
Merry Christmas To all the Community !"
[/spoiler]

[spoiler=ENTRY 2 - generalhead]
O Holy Night

O Holy Dice!

O Holy Conquer Club Dice! Hopefully the Sixes are brightly shining,
Let us roll and see what we unearth.
If I roll a one, I will be pining.
Till the sixes appeared and the player felt his worth.
A thrill of hope of rolling a six the weary player rejoices,
For when the bonus's break a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the Dice gods voices!
O dice divine, the night when the triple sixes were born;
O Dice divine!
O dice divine, the night when the triple sixes were born;
O Dice, O Holy dice!
O Dice, O Holy dice!

Led by the light of the dice serenely beaming,
With glowing sixes by the game board we stand.
O'er the sixes a players grin is sweetly gleaming,
Now come the Opponents out of the gaming land.
When the dice are good our opponents are in Danger;
In all our trials let the dice be our friends.
The dice god knows our need, our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your Dice! To your will they will bend!
Behold your Dice! To your will they will bend!

The randomness of the dice make sure we are no cheaters,
They don't want us to complain about dice and in the forums only want love and peace.
but we don't want bad dice, for in battle we want to slay the others.
And with El_Jefe at the helm all dice oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
With all our hearts we praise The sixes holy name.
The six is Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
The dice god's power and glory ever more proclaim!
The dice god's power and glory ever more proclaim!
[/spoiler]

[spoiler=ENTRY 3 - cryinlion]
to the tune of jingle bells

dashing through the fog
in a 2 team open game
over the trench we go
for the conquering fame

avoiding my assassin
attackers on the right
oh what fun it is to win
this conquer club themed merry night

[spoiler=ENTRY 4 - Dukasaur]
I'm dreaming of a three round rainbow,
Just like the ones I used to know,
So I can take 13 troops,
Drop them all on Yakutsk,
And deal my foes a fatal blow!

I'm dreaming of a three round rainbow,
The thing that makes Flat Rate worthwhile,
It will make their heads swim,
When they know they can't win,
And this is the last game in this round!

I'm dreaming of a three round rainbow,
Just like the ones I used to know,
So I can take 13 troops,
Drop them all on Yakutsk,
And deal my foes a fatal blow!

I'm dreaming of a three round rainbow,
The thing that makes Flat Rate worthwhile!
If you ever try to beat my score,
May my dice always leave you dead,
And may your sets always be red!

[spoiler=ENTRY 5 - DaveH]
The following is the theme to the tournament I plan to run on the 13th day of Christmas. However I am sure that it also qualifies as an entry into your wonderful competition :D :D

On the thirteenth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me;
Thirteen Ages Realming;
Twelve Steams a' Working;
Eleven Conquers Roming;
Ten Castles Landing;
Nine Arms a' Racing;
Eight Bamboos Jacking;
Seven King's a Courting;
Six Pokers Clubbing;
Five Great Lakes…..
Four Texan Wars;
Three High Seas;
Two Hong Kongs…..
and a Treasure of Galapagos!

Multis Roasting on a Forum Fire (An Off Topic Christmas)
    Multis roasting on a forum fire,
    Trolls nipping at your nose,
    Yuletide carols posted to inspire,
    While others dress in threadbare prose.

    Everybody knows an off-topicer and a turkey,
    Help to make the season right.
    Tiny teapartiers galore guarantee,
    That pimpdave will be posting late through the night.

    We all know that Santa's on his way;
    But if he stops by the forum on his sleigh,
    Let's hope he considers our thoughtful posts,
    Instead of the more longwided boasts.

    And so I'm offering this simple phrase,
    To clubbers from one to ninety-two,
    Although its been said many times, many ways,
    A very Merry Off-Topic Christmas to you.
[/spoiler]

[spoiler=ENTRY 7 - General Cod]

This little number ( for the kids really ;) ) needs to be sung with heart, soul and a good old fashioned christmas spirit.

Silent rage unholy dice
All isn't calm all isn't nice

Why do i play this when dice fail all of the time
Why am i writing this ridiculous rhyme

Sleep eventually but just one more game
Be late for work and conquer club's to blame

When I get home it's five minutes for an update
eight hours later - how the hell? - for fucks sake

sleep with conquering thoughts in your head
wake up and your troops are dead.

Just a bit of fun really :lol:

Here is my entry for this contest.
Im from Austria so there might be mistakes in the text. Hope you enjoy it anyway.

Oh holy night (Oh conquer club)

Oh conquer club, your dice are brightly shining.
Your are the greatest risk site on the web.

Oh conquer club, your maps are truly blinding.
So i log in every day to take my turns.

And when i win, it feels as if im flying
And when i loose, i instantly start crying

Ohhhh what a game, the lord itself created
ohhhh dice dice, divine oh dice this game is mineeeeeeee.
[/spoiler]

[spoiler=ENTRY 10 - Gabriel13]
Conquer Club, Conquer Club, Conquer Club rocks.
Dices are good then dices are shit
Play games and win wars with personal clans
Troll the forums and have a laugh

Conquer Club, Conquer Club, Conquer Club rocks
Speeder games chime, running out of time
Laughing and teasing in Conquer Club chat
Even at midnight

What a bright time, it's the right time
To waste the night away

Conquer Club nights are the best time
to stay up all night strategizing turns
Foggy or sunny games, flat rate or nukes
Play games around the clock

Mixed and a-random dice in all the games
That's why Conquer Club,
That's why Conquer Club,
That's why Conquer Club rocks.

Here's an entry to the tune of "Winter Wonderland." Thanks!

Conquering a Winter Wonderland

E-mail alert, are you listening?
"It's your turn!" Game's beginning.
The tactical might
Of troops look just right,
Deploying on a winter wonderland.

Gone away, is the blue player.
In his place, neutral troops here.
Missed too many turns,
Deadbeats never learn,
Bad ratings from the winter wonderland.

In the meantime we can play assassin,
And extend our troops much too thin.
Red says: "Can you kill him?"
We'll say: "No, man,
"But you can do the job in Cape Town."

Later on, we'll conspire.
As we play teams, with trench warfare.
Teammates have us flayed
For the rolls that we've made,
Disaster in a winter wonderland.

In Australia we can grab a bonus
And pretend that we can never lose.
We'll even conquer all of Asia
Until the other players form a truce.

At last the cards... are escalating.
And resistance is abating.
We'll auto-assault... the last of the troops,
Conquering a winter wonderland.

Conquering a winter wonderland,
Conquering a winter wonderland.

Hello, here I present you one real life situation written within a song :mrgreen:

Yesterday I received my invitation,
today I almost missed the duration.

The game was created as doubles,
this will create some more troubles.

I played first, assaulted cruicial neutral,
but I faulted, that lucky brutal feudeal.

Tried once more to get him bombarded,
no luck, that territory was heavily guarded.

If the game wasn't sequential,
we would have more potential.

Good thing after all it is fog,
but then again, there is a log!

Need To Do Some Winning Now

(to the tune of “Need a Little Christmas Now”)

Come on attack dice!
I gotta stop him before
It’s his turn again!
Pierce his defenses
And end his bonus then build
My own border up now!

‘Cause I need to do some winning!
Right this very minute!
Ranking’s gotta go up
Man I gotta win it!
But I need to do some winning!
Right this very minute!
“Conquer Club is just a game.”
“I gotta win this all the same!”

Cash in my spoils
Build up my army and knock
Him out of the game!
Only one other
remaining rival is all
That stands in my way now!

Oh, I hate the feel of losing!
Don’t wanna come in second!
Losing’s not amusing
It’s obsession I do reckon
But I need to do some winning!
Right this very minute!
Need to do some winning now!

El Jefe
Are you listening?
In the forums,
They are whistling,
They want this website,
To grow out of sight!
And be the greatest game there ever was!

Gone away are some ranchers
Here to stay are the Trenchers.
We're rolling sixes tonight,
As we take in the sight,
And play the greatest game there ever was!

In the Foundry we can make a new map,
And pretend that it's Not Middle Earth!
We'll take Far Harad
And call it Nazgul
But everyone will know
It sure aint Perth!

Later on
We'll win tourneys,
As we follow many journeys,
Through settings and maps,
And random dice flaps,
And play the greatest game there ever was!

In Off Topics we can build a strawman
And pretend that it's a valid point!
We'll have lots of fun playing the hitman
Until we need to calm our nerves and smoke a joint!

A speed game!
Is it thrilling?
Make an alliance,
Are you willing?
We'll curse at the dice,
Then make up and be nice,
And play the greatest game there ever was!

Oh let this be the greatest game there ever was!
Oh let this be the greatest game there ever was!

And the winners are:

Fifth Place: [player]Betiko[/player] for Entry #1

Fourth Place: [player]Dukasaur[/player] for Entry #4

Third Place: [player]Gabriel13[/player] for Entry #10

Second Place: [player]Hobbitsubculture[/player] for Entry #11

First Place: [player]Captain Space[/player] for Entry #14 / and [player]Dukasaur[/player] for Entry #18 ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Dukasaur and Captain Space received the same total points in voting for their first place overall entries. As stated in the beginning, the winners can only win one total medal, so Dukasaur gets honorable mention for having two entries in the top 5, but will not receive two separate medals. This means there will be 5 medals given out for the top 5, with a bonus medal for the YouTube entry.

Honorable Mention also goes to:
- CJ Lues for Entry #16 - our only YouTube entry. This entry was also voted into our top 5, but since he won a medal for the YouTube entry, he couldn't win a second one for the overall votes
- Andy Dufresne for Entry #6. Since this was a blind vote, his entry received enough to place him in the top 5 (the mods voting didn't know who submitted it), but since Andy Dufresne doesn't need medals, he is simply amazing as is, I decided to let someone else have a crack at the bling.
- Cryinlion for being the only contestant to submit three separate entries!

Medals will be awarded to our top five winners and to our YouTube entry. Thanks to all who participated!
