In a ideal game yes. But the problem is when folks create multis to help their chances to win a game against others or to lose to help increase their ranking/score. If it was a perfect gaming world there would be no need for the Cheating & Abuse forum.
Or folks may think that even though there are 2 different people behind each computer there may be a slight form of favoritism. I've seen it when I've been the 3rd man in on a friend's game. Everyone attacked me but I wound up winning just because their skills were a little weak.
So to avoid any possibilities of being accused of cheating it's best to not even put yourself in the situation.
