The SoC Training Academy and its Training Grounds provide basic training for new and old members looking to enhance their game strategy. "Train a Cook today, lose to a Sergeant tomorrow"
I find it some what disturbing that this was here all along and I did not know about it. And why did not anyone tell me when they red my winners list in the CC Newsletter? "Hey Vice, this looks an awful lot like Macbones' Honor Roll. =)"
Actually this is a good idea for the "Dhallmeyer's SoC Report." Every month this would and should be a regular spot on the report. And then transferred to this thread for continual record keeping.
It would be best done by some one with access to all the student names though. The way I did my SoC Winners List was by going over the games themselves. But some one with direct access to all the students and the classes could do this in no time.
I agree it should be part of the monthly report. We need to find non0teachers who are willing to help out, because we are pretty heavily taxed with just keeping up on students, and now you see why this hasn't been updated.
I could do this if provided with an updated list of students. I could have it ready by the next Report and with time to spare. +=)
But that part of the report should probably be from the 16 of the previous month to the 15 of the the Current month. It might be a good idea to post the "Dhallmeyers SoC Report" at the end of the Month instead of the beginning so as to be aligned with the events of the month and not the previous month?
Viceroy, I didn't do this for very long. It started out of a temporary activity we were doing to track our teaching involvement. It doesn't take long, maybe an hour or so at the end of the month, but with so many other tasks that I need to do, I had to put it down for a while. The idea was to encourage students and recognize good play. I'm not sure why you'd like it to be from the middle of one month to the middle of the next, but announcing them at the end of the month is arbitrary as well, I suppose.
I think that announcing this at the end of the month would make it seem current to a monthly report. As opposed to posting in the beginning of the month, events that had happened the month before.
I think that setting a midpoint date in the month for student scores, would also give us two weeks time to be flexible and complete with that report. No rush and no errors. And yet with in the monthly report.
But in the end only some one with access to all the student TF's could do it anyway. I don't see how it can be done any other way. I tried to do something like this for the Newsletter using the page where all the games are at and going game by game and it really is not easy doing it like that and cropped up a few errors also. So unless an SoC Mod does this, it wont get done. At least not the right way.
No problem here boss. Eventually this format will form, take shape and become a regular institution.
I also agree with what you said about just keeping it simple. No fancy header is required. Just a title and the means to inform the SoC Community of events and SoC News.
