Dukasaur wrote:Phase 1]The most popular scenario for the outbreak of the next nuclear war starts with the Middle East. Whether you consider the extreme strategic importance of Middle Eastern Oil, the maelstrom of religious and ethnic hatreds that have consumed the region for thousands of years, or just its unfortunate positioning as the lynchpin that connects Europe, Asia, and Africa, it's easy to understand why so many Doomsday predictions feature the Middle East.
Phase 1
40 players in 5 groups will play 8-player games on the Middle East map. The first player eliminated in each game is out of the tournament. The remainder will go on to the next round.

Games have been created and invitations sent out. Enjoy the ride, everyone!

I added you to the list.. but you're the 4th reserve so your chances of actually getting to play are really slim.

I accidentally allowed a duplicate entry. It will be rectified in the next phase.

Eliminated in Phase 1 are: aalii, Prosthodoc, General Bax, ESQuire, and DoomYoshi.

However, we have:

the situation with the double occurrence of sparkyball to fix. ProsthoDoc was eliminated in one of the games that sparkyball is in, and General Bax in the other, so one of them will be re-admitted.

Special tiebreak game has been created.

Edit: December 19th. ProshoDoc has won the tiebreak.

Phase 2
35 players in 5 groups will play 7-player games on the Rail Asia (Beta) map. If for whatever reason there are problems with the map and it is withdrawn, we will use the Indian Empire map. The first player eliminated in each game is out of the tournament. The remainder will go on to the next round.

Phase 3]Some people think the newest superpower, China, could trigger WWIII as it grows in dominance and begins to throw its weight around. In the words of Robert J. Ringer, "I suspect China will get a mouthful of plutonium when it tries to gobble up Taiwan."
Phase 3
30 players in 5 groups will play 6-player games on the Far East map. The first player eliminated in each game is out of the tournament. The remainder will go on to the next round.

Phase 4]In the 1950s and 60s it was often theorized that the extreme heat released by a nuclear war would melt the poles and make the whole world brutally hot.
Phase 4
25 players in 5 groups will play 5-player games on the Extreme Global Warming map. The first player eliminated in each game is out of the tournament. The remainder will go on to the next round.

I was wondering about Samejohn being slow picking up his invite in Game 12904157

Found the following in Game 12780573:
2013-05-30 10:39:36 - SaMejoHn: theflycassanova for SaMejoHn
2013-05-31 09:56:18 - SaMejoHn: theflycassanova for SaMejoHn. John's not coming back apparently. I am playing out his games.,.
2013-06-04 20:18:19 - SaMejoHn: fly for John
2013-06-05 19:03:41 - SaMejoHn: fly for John - until further notice -

So I guess Samejohn is out. That means crazy4catnip is back in, and will be invited into Game 12904157 as soon as Samejohn's invite expires.
