I figure there are some games at the colosseum, guy raises the kid up to catch the ball, and the guy is beheaded?

It's an interesting experiment. The people on the forum thread following that thing have pretty much developed a new subculture by now. Seriously, they have made up words and everything. I feel like there should be an anthropological study about this thing.
