The Star-Spangled Scrimmage [FINISHED]
edit: mc29. This Tournament has been rescued by elonpuckhog
Hello all,
Fairly new to this site but I've been perusing the tournament forums and saw many cool tournament ideas, and came up with an idea of my own. Since we're so close to Independence Day here in the US - here's The Star Spangled Scrimmage:
This tournament will use the following maps: USA, USA Great Lakes, USA New England, USA Rockies, USA Southeast, USA Southwest, USA West
Map settings will always be: Terminator, Automatic, Sequential, Escalating, Chained, Sunny, No Trench, and 30 Rounds.
This tournament can have up to 6 games going at once, so it is premium-only.
Round One: 36 players
- Each player will play 6 separate games, once on each of the regional USA maps (Great Lakes, New England, etc.). These will be 3 player games, with random opponents in each game. (These games will be sent out in two groups of 3.)
- Each elimination of an opponent will earn one point. The Winner will earn an extra point on top of their last kill for winning.
- After all games are complete, the 18 players with the most points will advance to Round Two.
- In the event of a points tie, the tie-breaker will be the amount of games won in Round One. If none of the tied players won a game, we'll go to number of 2nd place finishes. If there is a still a tie, we'll go to the total amount of rounds the player lasted in their games.
Round Two: 18 players
- Previous point accumulations are wiped, everyone begins at 0 points.
- Each player will play 3 separate games, randomly chosen from the 6 regional USA maps. These will be 6 player games, with random opponents in each game.
- Each elimination will score 1 point. Finishing in 2nd place will earn 1 extra point, and winning will earn 2 extra points.
- The top 6 players will advance to the final round.
- In the event of a tie, we will use the previous tie breaking rules, using Round Two scores and rounds.
Round Three: 6 players
- Previous point accumulations are wiped, everyone begins at 0 points.
- There will be 3 games total, played on the USA map. Each finalist will play in all games.
- Each elimination will score 1 point. Finishing in 3rd place will earn 1 extra point, 2nd will earn 2 extra points, and winning will earn 3 extra points.
- If there is a tie for the winner, the tie-breaker will be one final game among all tied players, USA map with a 20 Round limit. All other map settings will stay.
Other Rules:
- I reserve the right to change the rules or settings of the tournament if needed. Changes will be made with plenty of notice.
- You will have 48 hours to join your games, or a reserve will step in. In Rounds 2 and 3, reserves will be picked by the next highest scoring player eliminated in the previous round.
- If you want to withdraw from the tournament, please PM me.
That's all for the rules. I'd like the tournament to be 36 players, but we can go with 24 players minimum. (1st Round would then be 4 player games. Round 2 and 3 would stay the same as above.)
