BOB 5.2.4 Error while using the site-given clickable maps.

Post by Jdsizzleslice »

So basically, If I am using BOB, I cannot successfully use the site-given clickable maps. For instance, BOB will make it very hard to take my turn because it will move my cursor around and the text box will get in the way. I have to click very fast for a long time before it finally gets to recognize one of the movements I want to make.

Is this an update issue, or a compatibility issue with the site, or is it just me. :P Lol.

I believe this dates back to the game number being removed from above the map to the right side of the screen. If that's the case, you should find that in tournament games it doesn't happen, but other games have the issue you described.

the only solution i remember reading was a BOB option that moves the chat box above the map. can't seem to find the other thread right now... maybe someone else remembers.

EDIT: Found the old topic - maybe something there will be of use to you:

The last post in that topic has a version of BOB I whipped up which should help. In the past, the author of BOB has incorporated these independent versions so that the "Latest version installed"/"Update Available" button in the BOB Menu does what it should. I have not had any communications with him lately.

Christ this problem was fixed months ago it's recurrence must have been caused by a site update. :(

something still seems very wrong with it.
the words now appear too close to the cursor so you can't see wtf you are doing.
site updates are good for nothing but messing good things up.

This is the second time this year that this happened. Last time was when CC made some changes to the way the map pages were displayed. I suspect that this is now occurring for some similar reason. I suggested last time that they beta test changes before implementing them, but alas, looks like someone just went ahead and corrupted the the map layout. Is there some high authority we can contact to get this fixed. Everyone who uses Bob is affected.

Are you using the BOB 5.2.5 that I posted? I just played and did not have a problem, but I forget to check to see if I could replicate the issues reported here. I only have one game active right now, so I have no turns in which to check this out.

Well it is happening, and it is difficult to play. I have just removed BOB for the time being whenever I take my turns. Then turn it back on. I will check the other thread, and bookmark this one for future reference.

Hope it is fixed, BOB is a very needy tool for team play.

It was moved because this is the appropriate forum for issues with user-developed scripts... at it's heart this an issue with BOB.

In case you are not using it yet, and can't find the link, here is the version (5.2.5) that I think fixes the problem. You might or might not need to move the chat to the top of the page, as well.

This has started up again.

Tried both 5.2.5 and 5.2.6, and same problem happens. When mousing over a tert, the BOB stuff that is supposed to show up (x bombards y, etc.) flashes on and off, alternating with the clickies crap (click to deploy here.)

The flash is fast enough to cause a headache.
