Sochi Olympics 2014 - Short Track

This tournament is the 1st of 15 tournaments in the Sochi 2014 - Winter Olympics Tournament Series.

# of Players: 32 or more

Type: Qualifications with a tournament structure, single-elimination group brackets.

Settings: Standard, Automatic, Sequential, Flat Rate, Sunny, No Trench, 20 Rounds.

Map: Circus Maximus

Freemiums are welcome as long as they can commit 3 open slots for the qualification phase.

Qualifications: Once the list of players has reached 32, the tournament will be open for signups for only 3-4 more days. If we have more than 32 players, the qualification round will consist of 5 games with either 4 or 5 or 6 players (depending on what is easier to divide players as evenly as possible.) Player will score points each game based on where they finish. The top 32 scorers will move to the elimination round.

1st: 9pts - 2nd: 7pts - 3rd: 5pts - 4th: 2pts - 5th: 0pts - 6th: 0pts

Elimination Bracket: Players will be seeded by qualification scores and placed in groups of 4 in each round. The top 2 in each heat will advance to the next round, until a final game with the final four. There will also be a consolation game to determine the players in 5th-8th place. The winner of this tournament will receive an invitation to the Grand Finale tournament at the end of this series.

Rules:
- I reserve the right to change the rules or tournament structure at any time to accommodate issues or player amount.
- Players will be randomly assigned games in the Qualification phase using random.org.
- Players must join their games when invited within 24 hours. The tournament series join rules are as follows:
-- First failure to join game will result in a slap on the wrist.
-- 2nd failure to join game in will result in disqualification from the tournament.
-- 3rd failure to join game will invoke a 2-tournament "ban" in the series. (The next two tournaments to be put on signups.)
-- 4th failure to join game will result in removal from the entire tournament series.
-- If you know you will have trouble in getting to join your games at any time, please message me ASAP and we'll work something out.
