Turkey Time Tourney [Completed/deanof7 won]
Thanksgiving = Turkey
Turkey = 3 strikes (in bowling).
Thus, this tournament's goal is to win 3 games in a row.
Players: (Some multiple of 8 )
Start date: Some time between October 19 and November 2 (whenever I get time).
Freemies? Yes, but ONLY if you hold open 2 games initially and 1 game ongoing.
Settings: All games are Classic board, 8 player games (or 7 or 9 in Round 2 as necessary), sequential, foggy (isn't it always around Thanksgiving?), no trench, escalating, standard, chained reinforcement.
Initial setup:
2 games.
3rd game:
If we have 2 or more double-winners, then a playoff game for the winner.
If we have 0 or 1 double-winners, then everybody plays the 3rd game.
4th game:
If we have 2 or more Game 2 & 3 winners, then a playoff game.
If we have 0 or 1 Game 2 & 3 winners (NOT Game 1 & 3) nor a Tournament winner, then everybody plays the 4th game.
If we do not have a winner after Game 4, then any player who has not won a single game is eliminated.
5th game (Start of Round 2) is played like the 4th game. We continue like this for Games 5, 6, and 7.
Round 3/Game 8+ (if necessary (and, please, don't make it necessary)): Players with less than 3 games won are eliminated. Play continues as before with the exception that games are set up with a preference to 4 or 5 player games.

Re: Turkey Time Tourney
Updated.
As to the Canadian Thanksgiving question, we're actually celebrating Ben Franklin more than anything; I think he was the one that wanted the U.S. national bird to be the turkey. (some history-nerd, please correct me if I'm wrong there).
Please check the spelling of your names in post #2 as that will be the post I use to send invites.
