No problem Oliver, we all understand things come up. I'm looking forward to seeing further progress whenever you're able to get to it, but no rush :)

I am afraid that a little change will have to be made.

The XML file does not load after making Doomsday Device bombard all land regions. It will have to be reduced to just the capitals. Enough to kill the other players anyway.

I'd think the XML not loading is a site code issue and bigWham should arguably be able to look into it and fix it so we can keep the map the way it was originally intended. Really, I think it'll be important to have Doomsday hit all land regions. You may not be able to take out a 200 with Doomsday that's sitting on someone's capital, but if they're getting a large bonus from open conscription or deep mining, you can do a lot of damage by taking out unprotected regions w/Doomsday.

I think this is worth looking into. I would rather we have the map as intended with a little delay rather than cutting corners to get it finished! Take your time Oliver and let's make this perfect!

Yes! The day has arrived. The XML is finished.

Oliver, is the XML set up for Doomsday to be able to bombard just the capitals or all land? If just the capitals, do you have a copy of the old XML that crashed the wizard? I think it would be great to get the map into beta regardless, but if Doomsday is still capitals only, I think it would be good to see if bigWham can fix the problem.

That being said, excellent work and I really look forward to seeing the map on the beta site soon :)

Here is the file with the full bombardment list. Is it can be used, would be nice, but if it's too big I think it's a good compromise to go only for the capitals.

And thanks! It will seem totally unreal to see that map in the beta site, like being in a dream or so ;)

I think it's a good comprimise as well if it needs to happen, but always worth checking now that we have admin that actually pays attention.

I must say it's awesome to see that at long last this map is going to go live. I'll go and fill my queue with it once it hits Beta.

Gilligan, do you have a sense for when the XML check should be finished? I'm looking forward to playing the map on the beta site :)

I'm guessing that's the case as well, since it needs to go through the initial testing before it makes it to live beta. I happen to be part of the testing team, which is why I was wondering how long you thought it'd take for the initial XML review. I think once the XML is reviewed, the map and XML get sent off to tnb to set up on the test site, right?

Correct. I'd give it a week or so for that.

That sounds great. I'm so excited to finally be getting this off the ground :)

Just out of curiousity, what is the appropriate route for us to take to see if bigWham can fix the problem we were having with the XML so that the Doomsday gameplay doesn't end up being gimped? A post in the test site cartography thread for the map?
