Re: Jonty125's Mad Mafia (16/16) Day 1 has begun!
Hey guys, I apologize for not posting. I have been trying to find something to post in the game that would allow my absence (due to homework) to be looked over, but couldn't find new things to post on. The only thing I an really say that is up to date is that as far as a day 1 case, nos is better then nothing if it comes down to us needing a claim, but I didn't see anything scummy about anark's initial post about the chopping block. I mean, do you guys WANT to be there? NoSurvivor's double post after that looks a little incriminating, but I see it as sarcasm and then the realization that it probably wasn't best to use sarcasm to defend (not saying nos was defending anark) someone else. Because I use sarcasm as a second language, I saw it initially, laughed and then saw his "cover" post, so I cant say I didn't know it was sarcasm.
As for lootifier, I have seen him in a couple recent games here, so because he is relatively new, I will let him go, especially since he did actually give a reason for his liberal use of votes (slingin that vote errywhere... well between two people). Overall, to me, the scummiest action in the picture is lootfier's erratic voting, as the other two people just made comments about a chopping block and sarcasm, but I will have to read back after a nap to see if I can find something. Sorry for the lack of substance, I have been reading and keeping up, I just have troubles posting when its just to repeat what someone said, especially when I am insanely conservative with my vote alot of the times. I will however unvote my joke vote just to get that off the table. The last time I posted (the 14th), I felt it was too early to unvote it, so I left it. Like I said, after I get some rest, Ill reread, its a real short thread so it shouldnt take me too long, and Ill hope to post tonight or tomorrow (tonight if I find something, tomorrow if I need to give input on something).

Still waiting for something to add to the discussion.
I don't believe NoS meant anything by his statements and qualifications. I am picking up him buddying a bit with nag, but then again, who wouldn't want to buddy with nag early on? Could be something to revisit later if one or the other winds up dead, but I don't see enough to positively ID one or other as scummy.
For now, I will vote the submariner in the hopes we get something productive out of this day as well as eliminating the dead weight for later on in case we can't.
unvote vote jdean1

Definitely glad new guy got the sarcasm... But yeah I admit to backpedalling there because I know some people don't get it. Sorry bout that. I will alsounvote my joke vote since we seem to be getting to a more serious point in the game.
Re: Jonty125's Mad Mafia (16/16) Day 1 has begun!
Sorry for not posting for a while. Honestly, I just didn't have anything interesting to say, as none of the cases so far look all that suspicious to me. Of course I know day 1 cases are always weak, but so far they are especially weak.
I will unvote my joke vote anyway. Don't really have any good candidates to put a real vote on yet, so I'll wait until a better case comes up, or if nothing does, I'll go along with whomever is most inactive/missing since I'd rather one of them be lynched than an active participant with a weak case against them.

Re: Jonty125's Mad Mafia (16/16) Day 1 has begun!
I have to say, now that I woke up I feel much better. I have not reread, rather I am looking at safari's post. I didnt even see that post on my first read through, not fair
. Jokes aside, it is rather odd that jdean has not made any post besides his confirmation one. Because dean has a vote on him, he will be in the runoff vote. I still want to read through again to make sure he is the favored candidate, but first a shower then class. Ill be gone from now till around 6 hours from now, but after class Im re-reading and Ill post my vote.
Re: Jonty125's Mad Mafia (16/16) Day 1 has begun!
Has jdean played before? Does he realize that playing mafia requires someone to be more active than confirming their role 6 days after it's sent, and even then not responding to anything that's been going on? Maybe he needs to be prodded/replaced rather than being hung... although if nothing better comes along by the deadline, I guess I'd go for an inactive like him over a weak case on someone.

I think perhaps he thinks it is a tournament? Lol
Re: Jonty125's Mad Mafia (16/16) Day 1 has begun!
My brother is driving to class, so I can make this quick post. I have a couple ideas on why he wouldnt be posting, but refrained from posting them as I didnt want to give him an out if he didnt have a reason to not be playing. Ill see if he posts, but if he hasnt by the time I voted, I can post those suggestions. If you guys would rather I didnt, I can also refrain further.

^^ Looks much more like an inactive (null) rather than an active lurker (scum).
Also we are still a few days out from deadline so a vote on an inactive or lurker is a waste unless you think it's going to help them contribute (again I don't think it will). Sure i'll look at voting an inactive if we're 24 hours out from cut off, but right now there's better avenues to explore.

With 16 players one can not be surprised if one or several players go inactive. I have never heard of this guy nor played with him before. I would go for a replacement.

To be honest with you, it is a rare Day One when a sure case shows up.
Usually, it is just a lot of conjecture and metagaming from previous roles.
That being said, not knowing several of you in this game makes for a great mixture of new blood.

In seriousness I didn't throw my vote due to the new lynch mechanism. I want to get a feel for how people will react to it day one, and I really don't intend on placing my vote until run-off so we can learn how people react to it.

But i want to lynch a rookie for completely unjustified reasons.

Just an add on to what Edocsil said. Keep in mind this is not mafiascum. Its a different culture. Here at CC there is a formed core base of players who overtime have gotten a feel for how each other play. That does not mean everyone is predictable. Its always good when new players arrive and stay.
One does not need to vote every time one puts pressure on. I asked a legitimate question with some follow up.

I second this. We have Metsfanmax waiting...
I'm glad Crasp has posted as well. Sure you're new, but at least get in here and mix it up a little...I give credit to Lootifer for his effort...scummy though it may be.

Do you have something to be worried about if you do end up there?
Unvote vote Anark
Oohhh.. yeah, that was a bad slip up on D-1 especially... when no one really knows what's going on yet...
Eh.. now my post looks scummy too
i actually don't find nosurv's double post to be suspicious after reading through the exchange a few times but i could see where people would want to jump on it
i'll shift the focus to game setup, 16 players, no VTs, how many mafia can we fairly expect? 3? 4? and a SK? or 3rd party?
purely speculation but perhaps this little exchange between nosurv/lootifer/IB/anark/edoc is a bit of misdirection by mafia, i mean i just listed 1/3 of the players so odds are one of them aren't town!!
This was the funniest post I've read today. Let's name 5 random players and state the obvious...you're cracking me up. I'm just hoping it was in jest, and not a serious post of where to start scum hunting.
But, I'll get meta with you...and agree that 3-4 mafia and 1 sk seems about right. I wouldn't doubt the existence of some 3rd party factions/survivors.

Interestingly I would have interpreted edocs plan (when considered by itself) as anti-town: not only does a vote apply pressure with in turn leads to reactions/reads, but how you react to wagons, what wagons you join, etc, is hugely valuable later on; to avoid putting your vote down is as though you are trying to avoid leaving evidence that may later be used against you, the run-off excuse notwithstanding.
But then IB weighs with some support... support that somewhat explains edocs plan and makes sense (though I still don't like what edoc is doing).
So from my point of view it is, on balance, null - that could be just how things are done around here which is my problem to deal with and will probably end with me getting myself lynched
Buuuuuuuuut... It may not be null for other more experienced CC mafia players... thoughts?

Re: Jonty125's Mad Mafia (16/16) Day 1 has begun!
Sorry everyone! I got swamped at school right now, with a bunch of big tests and assignments. As it seems I will not really be available to play, I think I should be replaced. I apologize.

Neil deGrasse Tyson is cool.
