The Classic Games (CC Olympics Event) (COMPLETE)
This tourney is part of the CC Olympics Event. You need do nothing but sign up for this event. For more info, see this page: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=206502 Update 7/23: We're up to 71 players, 5 of whom are currently freemiums. As a reminder, you must purchase premium to play in this tourney due to game load. Premium must be purchased no later than Sunday, July 27, 2014. Games are scheduled to go out on Monday. Also, as a reminder, this tourney may or may not be one of the major tournies to award a participation ribbon.
The Modern Olympics began in 1896 in Athens, Greece. This tourney will test your mettle on an old map here at CC – Classic. This will be a 1 v 1 round robin tourney. Because of the number of games, you must be premium. I am looking for 64 players. I will consider more if signups go very quickly. Signups will stay open for at least one week. Settings for all games are as follows:
MAP: CLASSIC
Standard
Auto
Sequential
Escalating
Chained
Sunny, No Trench
20 Rounds
24 Hour Turn Length
Once signups are complete, you’ll be placed into a group of 8 (give or take based on amount of signups) using a seeded random technique (may change depending on number of signups). You’ll play one game against everyone else in the group. Group winners move on to the finals (in case of a tie, the tiebreaker will be head to head. In case of ties between multiple people, the tiebreaker will be head to head against all tied competitors). I will use challonge.com to keep track of all the round robins. Once we have all the group winners, they will play another round robin to determine the champion. Again, in case of a tie, head to head will be the tiebreaker. In the highly unlikely case that head to head is not a valid tiebreaker, we will create a playoff game. Scores will reset after the initial round robin. The four best records in the finals will win medals (winner = platinum, second = gold, third = silver, fourth = bronze.)
Compete for your country and compete for a medal. Sign up below. Good luck players!
