I thought we'd agreed the sound effects feature would debut this week? Did somebody drop the ball? Can we get a status update, please? :-s

As lack has said previously, sound effects are incredibly annoying, and they won't be on CC.

There can always be an option to turn them off, for those who think they're "incredibly annoying."

Personally, I like the idea.

Yea i would turn them off, but I would support this idea for those that would want it.

Maybe you could add a don't care option to the poll. If they were there, I wouldn't use them, but I might turn them on once in a while for fun.

I oppose saxitoxin's proposal due to the wasted opportunities that would have been foregone, if this proposal goes through.

Imagine the consequences: Lack spends all these resources putting in sound, while instead, he could have implemented 5 better proposals. The resources required for this proposal place it beyond the realm of reason.

If you are a wise ConquerClubber, you would see through saxitoxin's subversive plan to sap ConquerClub of much needed resources.

Therefore, I beseech you to vote "NO," in order to provide us with a more prosperous ConqerClub.

Yes! I voted yes! but only if it comes with a button so I don't have to load the sounds if I don't want to (that way when my internet is slow the sound effects won't hold me up). But yeah add an option to not have effects and this would be so cool! Maybe you can add to the XML so each map can have a different sound effect!

When the sound effects go live they should not be optional as some of the trolls here have suggested. Sound effects are a key part of the user experience and it will defeat the purpose of having them if people can switch them on/off at will.

Also, I was thinking, what about if at critical moments in gameplay there were pop-up videos? Like, for instance, if you only reinforce on a turn without attacking, this video pops-up for like 30 seconds before the next turn starts?

I think it could be a fun way to spice up the games a bit. Thoughts?

In honor of international necrobump day, I demand that the OP gets updated. We now have YouTube support and one of the videos doesn't work.

Also, it would be nice if users could upload their own sound effects, that way there would still be a variety. Or at least have sound effect support for special events.

Not a good idea. The site stalls and lags so much now as it is, this will just make it worse than it already is.

Lag would have to do with connection to the server and not with sounds running on your local client, you could just cache the sound file and then it wouldn't be a problem.

Apparently you didn't look at the post you reported. It was Yoshi's from 2012.

Necro-bumping is allowed in Suggestions, in moderation. Report closed.

i.e. the bump is allowed because mods/ex-mods like the idea and nobody with half a brain does.

Just what I was thinking. Kidding.

I'm not a big fan of the suggestion myself. But that has been policy ever since Suggestions came around. This is the only forum where necro-bumping isn't frowned upon, and is encouraged to bring insight to old suggestions.
