February Challenge: Scenari-ari-ari-o

Post by DoomYoshi »

Official Monthly Challenge for February 2015
Brought to you by [player]DoomYoshi[/player] and the Community Team

CLICK HERE TO JOIN WAITING GAMES

It was only a matter of time before I integrated my two current-favorite aspects of Conquer Club. Not all the challenges going forward will be scenario-based, but for those high rankers who don't want to lose points, but still want to compete for the prizes, we now have something for you!

The first scenario I crafted uses some of the more popular scenario ideas going right now, with a twist, to add challenge. There are 3 teams, not with equal chances to win. The catch is that you can't pick your partner! You also can't pick your color.

Also note that the join process for scenarios is different than the waiting game you are used to. You can request as many as you want, and as they fill up, they will start.

NO SIGN-UPS REQUIRED - Everyone is eligible!
To sign up all you need to do is join and win at least one game started between February 1 and February 28 with the following settings:

Medal Criteria
You need to win 5 tokens for the medal, including 1 of each color

Winning as Team 1 gets a gold token (worth 10 points)
Winning as Team 2 gets a silver token (worth 5 points)
Winning as Team 3 gets a bronze token (worth 4 points)

The points only determine place on the scoreboard.

Wins will still be counted until March 31.

FAQs

Who can play a Challenge?
All challenges are open to everyone, although freemiums may have a problem meeting the game load.

How do we join?
All you have to do is a)create games that meet the requirements or b)join games that meet the requirements. They can be private, public or even tournament games. Team CC is not creating any games, the whole thing is done by users. There is a game-join link at the top of the first post.

What are the prizes?
For reaching the Challenge Goal you get one of the rarest medals on the site, the Challenge medal. Challenges only come around once, if you miss it, you won't ever have another chance.
Image
For scoring the most points in the Challenge: 1 Green Conquer Star
Image
For those who finish in 2nd-5th place in the Challenge and achieve the Goal: 1 Blue Conquer Star
Image

When do I get my prize?
Soon after the end of the event!

How is deadbeating dealt with?
For this challenge, there is no punishment for deadbeating.

Rulings
1. Deadbeats will have entry points stripped.
2. Wins by round limit count as normal wins.
3. Games can always have round limits but they never need to.
4. Inventory relating to the challenge will vanish at the end of the year.
5. Bot games do not score tokens.

Last month's scoring was very anti-spam. This month, the spammers get another chance to be top dog.

After finishing 7 games and having 35 more in the play, I'd say the scoring isn't really fair. Team 1 & Team 2 should have swapped positions, it turns out it is hardest to win as Team 2, because you start in a sandwich between Teams 1 & 3 and get dead already at a round 5. Win as Team 2 should weigh at least 7 points.

there are different strategies to use for each team, I actually prefer the sandwich... :-)

Yea, I guess it was kind of skewed the wrong way. However, it impacts everyone the same way, so it's still fair in an absolute sense.

60 games finished so far, almost 200 played.

Team 1: 16 wins
Team 2: 13 wins
Team 3: 31 wins

I think team 2 has the best chance if they get some good, early dice and take that big bonus... it's a heck of a lot of 1s on that continent. As long as team 1 stacks Green, its almost impossible for team 2 to win (dice notwithstanding).

I'm still missing a win as team 2. you get easyly crushed by green when you're blue.

Haha, 60 games finished so far, and I got 58 finished games :) (and I played only scenarios)
Team 2 can win if they get a rainbow set with only 3 cards and take out pink/green early. Otherwise is a no go.

Catering to the high ranks...how much worse can this site get? The high ranks bitched because the monthly challenge could be won by someone who played more games than them so that was changed. Now a challenge that no points are involved, pitiful, pitiful, pitiful.

is there any sense in the jibberish you're saying? I wasn't joining those games for example because in spite of getting win rates way above the expected win rates i'd lose points, as these games are full of stripers. Now you're bitching because you get the competition deserved to reach the top spots of the scoreboard (I'm personally not running after that)? you're a sorry old man.

Anyway... i still don't get how the point you were trying to make could make any sense.
