I think the new rank system is a bit ridiculous. The highest current rank in the game is Colonel! After the best players on the site have played hundreds or thousands of games they are still colonel and major, what is up with that? I do like that there are more ranks, no doubt. Just make them realistically attainable. There are now three ranks at the top that nobody has, come on.

I think it should be more like the ranks in the U.S. Military. There are 9 pay grades (E1-E9) for the Enlisted and the Non-comissioned Officers (NCOs). Some services also have a few ranks for Warrant Officers, mainly helicopter pilots and such. Then there are the ten main pay grades (O1-O10) for Comissioned Officers. Both enlisted and officer ranks are bottom heavy, with the highest in both sections, E9 and O10, being the fewest in number of people with that rank. There is also another rank of officer that currently is unheld, the 5 star general/fleet admiral, pay grade O11, granted in wartime only and even then very rarely. The last I know of were General Eisenhower, who later became Presient, and General Omar Bradley.

Generally most people confuse rank with pay grade, because usually you advance a pay grade whenever you advance in rank. But some pay grades have multiple ranks within them, even though they are paid the same, and one rank name (an Air Force First Sergeant,) can span multiple pay grades. By the way, I only have 25 finished games. I've never played with, and don't even know any of the guys/gals at the top, so I don't have a dog in this fight.

I've gone to long, my main thing is that the top few players should be at least be generals, like they were before this new system of ranking. Every real army needs a general.

The ranks may be a bit high but how can I complain with all this other fun stuff to play around with. I nearly shit myself with excitement when I logged on this morning!

However, I then went wtf when I realised I was a sergeant again!

I like that there's some more ranks at the bottom - I've finally started winning some of my games, but since I lost most at first I was down to 800 points or so and it takes a while to get back up over 1000. I'm still a private but at least I'm separated from the cooks and cadets!

I love the percentage of games won (heck, just the number of games won vs. played would have been great, but a percentage is even better!) I love the symobs for the new ranks, but I'm a little dissapointed because now it means I'll forever more be a cook.

WOW, i'm playing 3 simultaneous rt's with with matt2006 with the 2 player setting... it's now easily my favourite setting.

I'm not seeing ranks in Game Finder any more. Maybe that's meant to encourage people to be less rank-conscious, but for me it just means wasting more of my time having to go look up people's ranks individually.

I hate the percentage of wins it doesn't really tell something... I have 33% because I play 6-player games, but people who play team games have higher percentages, of course.
33% seems not much, that's why I don't it :/

I think the work and improvements you guys have made a are great. However, I think you've over complicated the ranking system, there are just too many of them! I certainly agree with the higher ranks for more points, but splitting all the lower ones has made it very confusing and essentially demoted a lot of players!

I do like the changes with the exception of the ranking system. I liked the previous ranking system as it gave the more elite players a chance to earn top ranked status for a job well done. For me, attaining major rank was a very hard task. Now I go to a LT and anything under 1800 points puts me to SGT status. This current way of rank has gone a little overboard. I hope it changes back to the original way! Thx.
