It's not about what people want, it's about what will increase the userbase. People are stupid. People don't know what they want or what is best for them.

Exactly, best thing I have read on these forums in a long time!
What do you know about map making, bitch?

How is that going to work? We have the Guaranteed Suggestions Implementation thread were recently, the possible suggestions to be carried out have not been particularly popular. To get ones that would be popular we have to ask the people, and now we're going in circles.

Before anything else, this site needs an overhaul, both in terms of SEO and interface. It also needs some damn advertising. It's not expensive.

I believe there will be a resign/quit button at some point, the semantics just need to be worked out. It makes sense. There are a lot of suggestions that have been put forward and rejected; last I checked there was a sub-forum for that though. I've already stated what I think needs doing before anything directly game related, but I'll list below:

  • New, modern, simple UI
  • Smart advertising
  • Offers for new players/freemiums
  • SEO
  • Purchasing methods that don't screw members over
There is little point making adjustments to the game when the business model itself is failing.

Thanks, by the way. I'd recommend not getting a forum ban.

Definitely open a mobile app. The users are out there.

A certain risk app that is not shown in the App Store under a search for "Risk" has gained over 1 million users that have completed a game. We haven't had that many users create an account (700k or so). Around 500k users have completed over 5 games and 100k would qualify as "very active".

The funniest part of all of this? The app isn't even a year old. It was released in October 2014 and it wasn't close to usable then, so most of the users were probably from the past three months or so.

Another note- all users are sucked into an "offline" mode first thing- something CC has never thought it would be worth the time to invest in. Only after you have experience with this and a very crappy UI would you take the time to figure out about the online community.

Oh, also, mobile browsing has gone to complete crap on my phone. All the formatting and navigation is whack.

That's just another time of the referral programme that we've had for years and it's never been much of a success. I liked the earlier idea of giving new players a trial week of premium after they've completed a game.

BGtheBrain wrote:Well, typically when you are struggling to retain customers and attract new ones, it would indicate a demand problem. The price was then RAISED by 20% if you are buying it for yourself, and 60% if you wanted to buy premium for someone else.

Im not a genius, but clearly the price point is too high.

And allow them to try it without actually signing up. Not sure if thats already possible or not.

The basic section should be simple maps with fewer game types and fewer options. There should be a "quick join" button so people can come to the site, and start playing in a minute or two without having to do research and exploration first. I think this would help new users come and stay.

I am a huge favorite of the free prem trial, but perhaps on this website it's not ideal considering a new recruit could then start 10k games.
Maybe a considerable package of free speed games and/or tokens.

Like I said, a free trial with access to premium stuff is a proven businessmodel.

Fix all the damn tools.

This should be something written and updated by CC. NOT dependent on volunteers to spend their time and effort doing it for a little medal.

What tool doesnt work other than map rank?

Most if you're on Chrome w/ Tampermonkey. All I can run is BOB and clickies, anything else breaks the game.

I dont know what "most" are.

The site has clickies and BOB built into it...

Most of the site tools are clumsy and hard to use. Many interfere with each other. When I have grease monkey on, site clickies wont work.

Also, how are people that are fairly new supposed to find and download said tools? Why arent they integrated into CC from the beginning?

And they all need to work no matter what platform you are using, chrome, firefox, IE, and so on.

Well, for me, I liked to use chatglove, map rank and watch this game, but now they're all useless for me. The site's clickies are terrible compared to the script version. If by built-in BOB you mean the panels, don't even get me started on how horrendous they are.

I've used site clickies plenty of times, they're not as good. Also, if you play on a Mac, site clickies are all but useless.

Again,

we are talking about what can be done to reverse the decline

This is a big issue with a ton of people, and especially frustrating for new people, which is what this site needs.

Also, remember that many many people are not computer geniuses, so when there are multiple steps, or things to try it becomes really frustrating. I have been on here for 8+ years and it all still confuses the hell out of me.

Imagine just joining this site, and trying to figure it all out.
