Merger - VDLL and LHDD

Post by Extreme Ways »

Hello all,

Due to the VDLL having a very high freemium to premium ratio and the loss of some premium members, the VDLL have spent the last few weeks looking for either new members. This has not been fruitful enough, but we found a solution elsewhere.

VDLL and LHDD announce a merger, using the old rank and stats of LHDD but renaming to 'LHLL', or Les Hussards de Lage Landen.*

For the VDLL, LHDD was pretty much our only option. LHDD is the only other language based clan around, so the principles of the VDLL and LHDD will both stand tall.

We're very grateful to the LHDD for giving us a home.

Kind regards,
Don and EW

*Like the S&M merger. VDLL disbands and we all join LHDD, then rename LHDD to LHLL.

As Extreme Ways said, VDLL clan is the only clan LHDD would have consider as a candidate for a merger, being the only other language based clan.
VDLL and LHDD actually have a few members that can speak both language ( our belgium friends mainly ).
We are also facing the same problems that VDLL on the recruitment, there isn't so many french speaking players and some are taken by other clans.
One of our leader recently step out, and just one or two active players taking a break always give us lot of difficulty.
This way we extend our members and our recruitment base without changing our principles, we still remain a clan based on the language, but will welcome both players that wish to speak french or dutch.

LHDD est mort, vive LHLL !
VDLL is dood, lang leve de LHLL !

It's even better considering we've opted to not use any past LHDD-members in this current clanwar, as it's officially a VDLL clanwar. It''s both the 'anniversary' clanwar as it is the 'legacy' clanwar of the VDLL.

Thanks for sending the details, I've made the appropriate forum changes and updated the F400 rankings to reflect this. LHLL should do very well I think.

Database updates will be done by Keefie if he gets on, or myself once I'm home from work.

Cheers

I was really positive in this merger this morning, but then I found an article on a very well documented news media le gorafi http://www.legorafi.fr
that Belgium may split next year after a government issue.

So now I'm a bit doubtfull about the possibility for the french speaker to live with the flamish.
As we all know, live is an easy thing but play CC is something more important

I swear I replied to this yesterday, anyway:

While some of the things mentioned both here and in our clanforum are true, for example our low amount of premiums, I don't think the VDLL nor LHDD would ever consider a merge. Though the LHDD and VDLL have their similarities, they also have their differences.

While the LHDD is very competitive, the VDLL is a gezelligheidsclan. The word "gezellig" doesn't translate well to English, but for the VDLL fun comes first, winning later. This isn't always clear as we have some very fanatic members like myself or waauw, but it's demonstrated through our "open-to-all"-policy and our almost yearly clanmeetings.

A second point is the sheer difference in skill. The VDLL averages a score of 2075 per member, while LHDD harbors an average of 2320. I can only speak for the VDLL here, but our average score is a little bit boosted due to Koganosi and myself having won some wars: the majority of our members are 2000-.

Last but not least, if the VDLL and LHDD were to merge we both lose the language-based trait. Not everybody speaks French and I'm sure as hell not everbody speaks Dutch as well. The fanatics of the VDLL would seek homes elsewhere, and the fanatics are certainly skilled enough to do so. The less fanatic members would probably enjoy a usergroup and play in teams, without an official clan backing them.

TLDR: It's not going to happen.

C'is très waar. Aucune idee pourquoi mensen pensent dat deux taal-basés clans peuvent zich rejoindre. C'is compleet ridicule. We serons geen taal-basés clans niet plus.
