You lied and got caught in your lie, dunno what exactly you're complaining about.

Whether the role is bullshit or not, i dont really give a damn, you were warned about unbalanced roles. Last time I played cyoc someone used godlike powers that could change anything to give tfo a mustache. The scum role isnt that outlandish to me.

What SW said is true. You should have been killed on principle, the only reason you weren't is because it was fairly obvious you weren't scum. I'm not sure what TFO was thinking handing you a gun, I can only assume he was trolling us all.

I'm saying I should have been given the benefit of the doubt because there were 2 global abilities that affect everyone and I only claimed one of them which doesn't negate the fact that someone else used another one so strike had no way of knowing I didn't perform the 2nd universal action.

Plus global roleblock should have blocked the protective aura that part was missed in all the chaos. What the f*ck was that about.

What?

There was never a global roleblock, the only night in which my action gave no result was the night in which DDS did his Yakuza thing.
You claimed to be responsible for the global protection, but Strike's role (so he claimed) let him know someone else had that ability. It's no different than claiming you visited person X and the watcher counterclaims you. You lied. Strike had information that proved you lied. Why should a liar who is caught in his lie be given the benefit of the doubt?

You're coming across as extremely salty.

Samlen had a one shot global roleblock that blocks everything. He used it night 1. That is why we didn't perform any kill.

When mod mentioned a green aura covering the entire town I assumed that was our roleblock. Maybe that was stupid of me but anyway I did. So I claimed it thinking I'm claiming the action of my partner samlen.

Then when strike was so sure I figured that he's talking about some additional global power which is a protective. So I said there must be 2 different actions. I never explicitly said I protected the whole town as far as I recall i just claimed the green aura thinking it was the roleblock. I then said I roleblocked. Nobody believed me but I wasn't actually lying about the action. I was lying about who committed it.

All the players assumed there can only be 1 global action so they believed that only one of us could be telling the truth. When in fact both actions can be performed simultaneously.

TheForgivenOne wrote:Benga, you are Slavoljub Eduard Penkala, the Town Inventor!

You are a Croatian engineer and inventor of Dutch-Polish-Jewish descent. You became renowned for further development of the mechanical pencil - then called an "automatic pencil" - and the first solid-ink fountain pen. Collaborating with an entrepreneur by the name of Edmund Moster, you started the Penkala-Moster Company and built a pen-and-pencil factory that was one of the biggest in the world at the time. This company, now called TOZ Penkala, still exists today.

As a engineer and inventor, you have an uncanny knack at coming up with ground breaking inventions that the world enjoys. With these skills, you've come to the humble town and decided to continue your inventing ways. Every night you may PM me your invention and who you are going to give it to do, or what it shall do. Note, I will approve of your invention, only if it is NOT gamebreaking in anyway. Try to be creative! Can be as simple as a Vest, or whatever comes to mind.

Please confirm in thread.

TheForgivenOne wrote:dakky21, you are Vanilla Townie... The Vanilla Townie!

You're such a humble guy, in a game where you could have came up with anything that your imagination came up with, you came up with 3 characters that your Game Moderator couldn't come up with anything with, but since you suggested Vanilla Townie, you got it!

You got a super powerful ability, called the "Vote"! Each day you may place your "Vote" on a player that you believe is against towns wishes, and if they have enough "Votes" on them, they will be lynched!

Go confirm in thread.

TheForgivenOne wrote:Skoffin, you are a Sentient Potato, the Town Crier!

This potato has achieved what was once thought of as impossible for its spudly kind; more than just life, but CONSCIOUSNESS!
Very little is currently known of this particular potatoes personality amongst humankind, but people do tend to be shocked when i starts talking.

As a sentient Potato, people don't expect you to talk. At any point during the Day phase, you may send me a message with what you would like to say, and I will make a post on your behalf in the game. You can talk normally in game, but if you feel the need to say something anonymously, PM me and I will post it as an "Anonymous" voice.

Please confirm in thread.

TheForgivenOne wrote:aage, you are Jimmy McNulty, the Town Drunk Cop!

Image

McNulty is a detective in the Baltimore Police Department of Irish heritage. While he has proven himself to be a talented and determined detective, he is disliked by many of his superiors, and occasionally his colleagues, because of his over-estimated and outwardly arrogant sense of self-worth and ability, his disdain for authority, and his unwavering disrespect for—and insubordination to—the chain of command.

When off the job, he has frequent problems involving alimony, alcoholism, child support, and unstable relationships. McNulty is nonetheless a clever, resourceful police officer, and though not above manipulation and deceit, he is generally moral. He is central to many of the successful high-end drug investigations that take place within the series.

Each night you may investigate one Person. You will learn that person's alighment, as well as have a drink with them, which will roleblock them for that night.

Please confirm in thread.

TheForgivenOne wrote:madmitch, you are James Bond, the Town Spy!

You are a Senior Operational Officer of the 'Double-O' ('00') Branch, an ultra-covert Black Ops unit within the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6). As an agent of MI6, Bond holds code number "007". The 'double-O' prefix indicates his discretionary licence to kill in the performance of his duties.

Each night you call into Q asking for an object. I am Q. You may PM me asking for an option of 3 items. I will grant one of them. Could be a Vest, A gun you may shoot during the day. Etc. Try to be creative, but NOTHING gamebreaking. If something is game breaking, I will ask you to think of something else. You may not request the same item twice. So if the first night you ask for Items A, B, C. I give you B, you may not request B again, however you may request A and C still.

Please confirm in the thread.

TheForgivenOne wrote:Pikanchion, you are San, the Town Vigilante!

San is a beautiful young woman of average build who wears ragged clothing and a cape made of a wolf's fur, and has what appears to be red war paint on her face. She wears a head necklace with a single small gem in her front. She also bears short, straight, fluffy hair and has blue eyes with bangs slightly parted in the middle. She has a medium necklace with three fangs tied across her neck. She wears long dangling, oval shaped earrings during the whole film. She is also very agile, fast, fairly strong and appears to be really good at using daggers and spears. She wears a mask which is her iconic feature. The mask is red with ears and white wavy lines and three yellow holes for a mouth and eyes.

San is stubborn, short-tempered, courageous, and protective, her primary concern being to protect the forest and animals she lives with. San rejects her own humanity and seems to be quite misanthropic and thinks of herself only as a wolf.

Each night you can PM me with your choice with who you would like to kill that night. Please note that you do not have to kill anyone. If you don't want to, please PM telling me that you choose not to kill someone that night.

Please confirm in the thread.

TheForgivenOne wrote:strike wolf, you are Lucio, the Town Support!

On the battlefield, Lúcio’s cutting-edge Sonic Amplifier buffets enemies with projectiles and knocks foes back with blasts of sound. His songs can both heal his team or boost their movement speed, and he can switch between tracks on the fly.

Each night you may activate either your healing song, or your speed boost song! If you choose heal, you may visit one person and you will protect them. If you use Speed Boost, you may pick one person and give that person a speed boost! They will be allowed to perform their action twice. ONCE per game, you may "Drop the beat" and all of town will be immune to any killing actions.

Food Network personality and professional hair model. Your M.O. is taking his victims to a place he calls "Flavor Town". No one has returned from Flavor Town without significant psychological and gastrointestinal damage. He enjoys collecting classic cars.

At the end of each day Phase, you will PM me 2 choices. Those 2 people will be sent into a "Dimly Lit Dinner" with each other. They will be roleblocked for that night. Each person will learn of that person's role, but not of who they are or alignment. So if you were to pick Player A "Cop", and Player C "Doctor", both will be roleblocked. Player C will receive a PM: "You find yourself in a Dimly Lit Dinner with another guest! The guest appears to be a Cop". They will not learn alignment. If a killing role visits one of them, they will still die.

Each night you may create a Post Restriction for 1 player, or for the entire time, your choice. This MAY NOT BE GAMEBREAKING. For example: You must type all in all caps, or Each post this person makes MUST reference Mario. Be creative. This specific PR will last until the end of the following day. You may not silence someone or force them to speak in another language. You are simply trying to survive until end game.

You may Light yourself at night. You can either pick one person's house to light yourself at, and that person will be roleblocked. HOWEVER, you may light yourself in the town square and If nobody visits you, then ALL night actions fail because your scent is just so damn soothing. However if you decide to light yourself in the town square and someone visits you, that person will get suspicious as to why someone would leave a candle on all night, and your action will fail. If that person visits you twice while you are lit in the town square, they will be alerted that you are a mafia member.

Raised by humans as a gladiator, Thrall later escaped from Durnholde, and fought under Orgrim Doomhammer, the name sake of the Horde capital, Orgrimmar, to liberate the orcs interned after the Second War. During the liberation of the last of the camps, Orgrim fell in combat bestowing his black plate, the title of Warchief, and the Doomhammer upon Thrall. Thrall then gathered his Horde and sailed to Kalimdor, and settled Durotar, the new home for the orcs. After joining the Earthen Ring shamans to help repair the elements of the world from the Shattering, Thrall, with the help of the dragon aspects and a group of mortal heroes, used the Dragon Soul to destroy Deathwing, and save Azeroth from destruction.

You are a Japanese Yakuza, the sixth and current kumicho (supreme "Kingpin") of the Yamaguchi-gumi, Japan's largest yakuza organization. TSukasa took control of the 40,000-strong gang on July 29, 2005 after the retirement of previous don Yoshinori Watanabe. Under Tsukasa, the Kobe-based Yamaguchi-gumi is expected to continue that expansion into Tokyo and Eastern Japan. According to both yakuza and police, this movement will inevitably create conflict between the Yamaguchi-gumi and the Kanto-Hatsukakai, a federation of Tokyo-based yakuza groups including the Inagawa-kai and the Sumiyoshi-kai.

Once per game during the night phase, you may indicate to me that you plan on converting one player that is not in the Mafia, and you will convert them into a Vanilla Mafia, however, to do this, you must kill yourself in the process.

He did use it, correct. But read the flavour of the end of Night 1/beginning of Day 2 Scene.

"Huh? Why would someone leave out a candle? That's a fire hazard!" And he leaned over and blew the candle out, and continued on his merry way.

His action failed, and I thought I made it rather obvious to Samlen and to you guys with that line. I didn't include too much flavour in the scenes, but I thought that one was a good one that only you guys would understand. With him being a candle and everything. I guess I could have mentioned in Samlen's PM Role about being blown out, but I thought the flavour in the scene would have made it clear. My apologies if it wasn't.

I backed myself into a corner with the Mets lynch, though. Honestly, I forgot a lot about the game because nothing happened and, you know, I forget...

GG all. Wooooot, TOWN WINS! :D

Thank you for the game TFO. I'm sorry for being so inactive especially near the end. It was such an imaginative setup with great roles and I'm sorry that we weren't all a lot more active. Bad us!

After that one long night (I think it was Night 2), I have completely forgotten what transpired during the first two days and have been forced to rely on the Force.

Also, I was more then willing to follow the lead of Aage the Pro-Town Hero, except I started to suspect him towards the end. Luckily, he lead the Town to victory before I had a chance to make a fool out of my self by starting an anti-Aage crusade.

Very kind words.

With both of these CYOC games I've hosted, I've been a little scared to go the full 9 yards with my roles that I come up with. Some I think are overpowered, some I completely back off because unfortunately they aren't plausible in a forum setting. I've been relatively happy that both games weren't completely dominated by one side. I was unsure how this game would go towards the end.

Samlen's role I almost left where his "Block all" power wouldn't effect mafia kill, but about 20 minutes prior I got wet feet and altered it slightly where EVERYTHING would be blocked. I thought if Samlen ended up being trusted by town, he could become OP quickly. I didn't expect aage to remain unclaimed as cop so late into the game either.

About the only role I have second thoughts on, is Bujaber/Throll. I thought his role would be useful, but I get the feeling now that the game is over, that he had to get lucky to find someone with an action.

So I recall some criticism over why I used my ability so early. Honestly it was mostly two things.

1. I didn't trust myself to necessarily be alive past night 2 or 3. Securing that I got to use it was a factor.

2. After Dakkys vt confession pushed all eyes on him and more or less forced our hands into lynching, I figured town could use a relative redo after that.

I also factored in that if I was blocked, I wouldn't lose the action and that if mafia had an unblockable action, they were more likely to save it until another night. Something that occurred to me afterwards is that using it Night 1 was less likely to mess up the tracker and watcher as it was too early for them to really have gotten a good read on who might be scu m and who might be targeted and would have been shooting more blindly. Also with more actions flying around, there's greater chance of coincidental visits making tracking liable of producing a false lead on early nights.
