Re: SoC 1v1 Ladder Challenge
Guys you're missing the salient point. Poly is allowed. Trench is allowed. Poly 4v4 is not allowed, trench or otherwise.

Re: SoC 1v1 Ladder Challenge
I didn't realize that this trench game was a rule. I demand a rematch with Duk!!
...
I'll take my win against xroads though!!

Yes. And trench games must be limited to 20 turns.
And Duk... I resemble that remark.
1 outta 3 ain't bad but it doesn't get me on the throne. How can I go to the bottom to work my way back up again if I don't win the throne?!

Is it time for me to file my games against Lord? And for DIBS to once again be open? Don't want to jumped the gun so will wait for Judge Chuckie Poo to post this defeat.

Re: SoC 1v1 Ladder Challenge
Straight from the rules:
But I saw no reference there to trench games being limited to 20 rounds, can someone help with this?
Quote from Steve:
6. Polymorph games are allowed. Poly games CAN NOT be 4v4 poly or trench. All other game settings are fine.

Couldn't get on here (Forum) yesterday because of the server issues...so here we go...
Got the match recorded...
Got the challenge recorded...
Fixed it...even though MG has been known to play with himself on occasion...LOL
Got the match recorded, along with the new challenge.
Got the match recorded...
I read all of the following posts about this, so I'm not going to requote them all.
Rule #6 says:
This means that no game can be Poly 4. It also means that no Poly game can have the trench setting. We incorporated these two restrictions to keep the games/matches moving. Any Poly trench game could take forever, along with Poly 4 games. Our initial hopes were to have games/matches completed within 15 rounds.
No one has reported a Rule #6 violation until now.
I see that Duk has deleted the game in question, so there's no need for me to step in here.
Thanks, Duk!
Steve, can you tell me where it says in the rules that Trench games are limited to 20 turns? I cannot find it, amigo...
Unfortunately, you cannot challenge Lord Arioch until your challenge to Elric is complete (reported). Once that is done, then you can make your challenge to Lord Arioch.

For MGSteve, walking and chewing gum is a challenge.

That should move me to number 9. There is only one person that I can currently challenge. So, I'll challenge [player]benga[/player].
EDIT: benga doesn't accept invites, so I cannot invite him to games. He will have to create all games and invite me.
My settings:
Poly (2)
No Spoils
Fog
No Trench
Chained
Got the match recorded, along with the new challenge.

Really!? I coulda sworn one of the rules we came up with long ago was that trench was okay but they had to be limited to 20 turns. Maybe I'm thinking of FoE's MoM games.

Re: SoC 1v1 Ladder Challenge
Thanks Chuck.
It is a small thing, but could you also fix my record? (Judge's can do that right? Isn't that why you took that bribe from me, remember?)
I was 1-4 on the old ladder. Am 3-3 right now on the new, so it should be 4-7 (soon to be 4-9 it looks like). It is this dismal mess that has be shooting for the moon against EriK .
BT
PS - glad I don't have to put my trial suit on again against Steve - we saw how badly that worked out for me last time! Remember, lawyer's do it in their briefs.

I'm sorry, but no you cannot challenge Lord Arioch until after bobby has his shot at him. I do know from chatting with BT that he's about finished with his match against ETG so I expect the new match to start soon.

Re: SoC 1v1 Ladder Challenge
Chuck beat me to take over 3rd
Game 18843633 Chuck
Game 18843635 BT
Game 18843718 Chuck
CONGRATULATIONS CHUCK! This was also the rubber match against Chuck, we were 1-1 in ladder matches. Total games in the three sets 5 Chuck, 4 BT, but the 3rd place slot goes to him. Well played. This round, the team who got first move won each time.

Re: SoC 1v1 Ladder Challenge
Just curious how Rule #9 works with this .... in practical terms Bobby has challenged both me as well as the winner of another battle or 2 challenges simultaneously, no?
Can anyone make another challenge while they are currently in a battle where they are the challenger?
9. You can only challenge one player at a time.

Re: SoC 1v1 Ladder Challenge
Good question Elric. I see the DIBS not as a challenge, but as a reservation of the right to challenge.
I have lost to Elric the Great, 2-1, as follows:
Game 18822166 BT
Game 18822163Elric the Great
Game 18824092 Elric the Great
So, now I will post my challenge, fulfilling the DIBS, against Lord Arioch
I think read into Rule 9 that one can challenge and have DIBS at the same time.
BT
PS - when Judge Chuckie Poo says so, DIBS are open again

Re: SoC 1v1 Ladder Challenge
I concur ... I have prevailed over bobby 2 games to 1
I would have to argue that making a challenge and Calling DIBS at the same time is in fact a double challenge ... one challenge starts immediately, with the opponent you immediately select, and Dibs is in fact a challenge against a currently unknown opponent. This can potentially have the effect of stalling the ladder as you can be caught in your ACTIVE challenge when the Top Spot becomes available and nobody else can challenge the King as we ALL have to wait for the person with Dibs to become available before the King can make another attempt to defend his/her throne.
Instead of holding everyone hostage ... maybe it would be more prudent to have the future challenger of the king sit out from making any other challenges while they watch and wait for the king to become available. This way the only person waiting is the future suitor of the ultimate battle and not all other ladder climbers
For that matter ... even the person you have challenged should have priority access to the Throne if they are not challenging anyone when the King becomes available.
