We are running this tournament as a test version. We only need 8 clans. Lots of extra prizes!
----
CWC Format
This is a clan tournament based on the Football World Cup format. It consists of a Group Phase, where clans within a group play each other, and a Knock-Out Phase, which is a single elimination bracket. You could say it's kind of a combination of the Clan League and the Conqueror's Cup.
For the Group Phase we will have 2 groups of 4 clans, groups A and B. The groups will be filled randomly. Both groups play a double round robin, i.e., each clan plays each other twice in the same round, with 12 home and 12 away games. Each set of 12 games is considered a match.
Per match, points will be awarded as follows:
Win: 2 Points
Draw: 1 Point
Loss: 0 Points
The ranking after 3 rounds will be according to the points scored. The tie-breaker rules will be the same as in the Clan League. The clans ranked 1 and 2 of each group will go to the Champions Bracket for the Knock-Out Phase. Clans ranked 3 and 4 will go to the Second-Chance Bracket.
For the Knock-Out Phase the seeding for the 2 brackets is predetermined. The clan ranked 1 in group A will play the clan ranked 2 in group B and the other way around. Same for clans ranked 3 and 4.
Every round will be a clan war of 43 games. Every round has 1 tie-breaker game built in. Every round counts as a full standard clan war and the winners will receive a Clan Achievement Medal. The winning clan moves on to the next round. The clan winning the final of the Champions Bracket wins the tournament.
The overall CWC winners and the winners of the Second-Chance Bracket will receive an additional Clan Achievement Medal, as well as other prizes (see below).
The MVP will be chosen by the clan winning the tournament and will receive a medal and other prizes (see below).
As usual, clans can negotiate certain clan war "defaults", such as settings, use of maps, etc. For more details, see below.

Group Phase: Creating, Posting & Filling Games
We will have rounds starting every 2 weeks, on a Sunday (see schedule). The clan contacts are responsible for creating their clan’s (home) games, inviting their players and ensure the games are filled correctly and in a timely manner. Merely inviting players does not mean that the game is filled!
At the start of every round the home clan contacts have to:
- Create the home games
- Post the home games (game numbers only) in the appropriate thread
- Invite the home players and make sure the games get filled
Creating and posting the games should preferably be done on the same Sunday the round starts. However, the deadline for doing all of the above is the Sunday after the start of the round, at 18:00 hrs. CC Time. That means there is 1 full week to get this done.
After Sunday, 18:00 hrs. CC Time, the away clan contacts have 1 more week to:
- Invite the away players and make sure the away games get filled
This makes the absolute deadline for joining all games the second Sunday after the start of the round, at 18:00 hrs. CC Time.
----
Game Creation Labels
The 1st Clan Contacts, and some 2nd Clan Contacts, have privileges to create the home games and invite their players. When creating a game use this tournament: "[CWC] GP". For your home games label the games with your clan abbreviation first, followed by "vs", followed by the away clan. For example, the first set of Round 1 is PHNX against FAD so PHNX should create their home games with the following label: R1 PHNX vs FAD The second set is the TS home games and the label should be: R1 FAD vs PHNX
[CWC] Active War Games Lists for Clan World Cup
----
IMPORTANT: Communication is key!
Clan contacts should contact the TOs if they have a problem meeting a deadline and/or if they know they are going to be absent for a certain period of time. We may be able to help to avoid missing a deadline by granting an extension or privileges to the second clan contact, for example. Other clan members should warn their clan contacts if they see a deadline may be missed. If the clan contacts are unresponsive, clan members should contact the TOs.
Notes:
- To avoid ongoing games from having to be remade it is strongly recommended that the away clan contacts check the home games for errors before inviting their players.
- It is optional to send a PM to the opposing clan contacts with the games and/or assigned players.
-
Knock-Out Phase: Clan Wars
Amount of games per round:
All rounds : 43 Games, including 1 Tie-Breaker Game
21 Home Games
- 7 Doubles
- 7 Triples
- 7 Quads
----
The Tie-Breaker game for all the rounds will be Triples on Classic, sunny, chained, no spoils (does not count toward player game maximum)
----
Creating games:
All games have to be created with the [CWC] privileges.
The game labels should include the set and the clan that created the home games (for example: Set 1: LHDD Home).
The clan creating the clan war thread will also create the tie-breaker game for that clan war.
Once the home games have been created they have to be posted in the Active Clan War Lists for Full Wars and send to the other clan by PM or posted in the clan war thread.
-
Knock-Out Phase: Default Rules and Settings
- Default Rules & Settings:
- Only game types allowed are "Teams" (Polymorphic is not considered a team game)
- All games must have automatic initial troop deploy (no manual)
- All games must be sequential (no freestyle)
- All games must have 24 hour round length (no speed)
- All spoils are allowed (negotiable)
- All forts are allowed (negotiable)
- Round limits are allowed (negotiable)
- All Special Game Play is allowed (negotiable)
- Each clan will pick the map and settings for exactly half of the games
- Games will be exchanged in 2 sets
- At least half of the quads games will be exchanged in the first set
- 12 Hour Fog Rule will not be in effect (negotiable, TO will not enforce any penalties for violations)
- New settings that are implemented after the start of the Cup will be excluded from wars (negotiable with specific approval of TO)
As has been allowed in the past, for each clan war clans can negotiate to adjust certain rules/settings slightly to their liking. Those rules/settings are marked "negotiable" in "Default Rules and Settings" above. Both clans need to agree on the adjusted rules/settings in the clan war thread before any games are started. Any deviation of the default rules/settings need to be posted in the clan war thread (see below for details). The TO, or another CD who is not involved in the clan war, need to approve the changes in the same thread. To avoid delay, please PM the TO once the changes have been posted.
Note: This ability to adjust rules only applies to individual war settings not to overall rules of CWC. For example, clans may not increase the number of games in their match, change the 6 week limit for having all games started, violate the 1 Clan Rule, etc.
IMPORTANT: If no deviations of defaults are agreed upon and posted within 1 week, the defaults stand.
-
-
Knock-Out Phase: Clan War Threads
At the start of every round, by default the higher ranked clan will set up the clan war thread. As long as both clans agree they can choose to have the other clan do it.
The clan war thread needs to be created in the "Active Challenges" section of the clan forums. In the title the prefix [CWC] has to be used, followed by the round and the abbreviations of the two clans (for example: [CWC] R4: TOFU VS FALL).
The clan that sets up the clan war thread is responsible for the following:
- Post any negotiated and agreed upon changes to the default rules/settings, marked in red
- Post any negotiated and agreed upon deviations from the default schedule, marked in blue
- Send a PM to the TO, or another CD not involved in the clan war, when the above has been posted
- Request privileges for both clans by posting in the "Clan Gaming Privileges Request" thread
- Send a PM to the TO that the request for privileges has been posted
- Post all the games in "Active War Game Lists" thread for standard clan wars
- Post a link to the Clan Tab War Page
- Update the clan war thread when applicable (results, etc.)
- Update the title of the thread with the score and when the clan war is finished (mark title with "FINAL" and the end date)
- Send a PM to the TO when the clan war is decided
Notes:
Sending PMs to the TO is helps us to avoid delays, which helps you to stick to the schedule.
If your clan is not running the clan war thread, please send a PM with your home games to the clan contact who does run the thread. That way it's easier for that person to copy and paste the games in the various threads. You're free to post them in the clan war thread as well.
Please post the games numbers with a link to the game ([game][/game]).
In the "Active Clan War Lists" thread you only need to post the game numbers (linked).
When you have updated the OP or title of the clan war thread, it's recommended you also post that you updated it.

General Rules & Comments
General Rules:
All the CC and standard Clan War rules will be in effect, unless stated otherwise.
Game abuse like purposely running out of time or throwing a game is prohibited. The first time a clan breaks this rule in CWC the game must be re-made (unless other clan wants game to stand). Each subsequent violation during CWC will result in a forfeit of the game.
If you notice a player from the other clan has violated the number of games they are allowed to participate in, please bring it to the TO's attention. If the clan/player is found in violation, the opposing clan will get to pick any game(s) that the offending player is/was in from the last batch played equal to the number of games that went over the limit to be re-made without that player participating.
If a clan or player breaks one or both of the above rules repeatedly it may lead to expulsion of the player and/or disqualification of the clan.
Consequences for breaking any other rule mentioned in this post will be determined on a case by case basis, depending on the severity, repetitiveness, and possible effects on the results of this tournament. The consequences can vary from a warning to the remaking of a game, forfeits, point deductions, or in the worst case, expulsion of a player and/or disqualification of a clan.
----
Comments:
Clans are encouraged to solve minor issues between themselves. However, if you feel that a clan or a player has broken a rule, please report this to the TO. Same goes for any other problem you encounter during this clan event.
Lindax is ultimately responsible for running CWC. If you disagree with a ruling by Lindax, please contact TeeGee, the Clan Department Head.
By signing up your clan, you, your clan and your players express agreement with all the rules mentioned in this post.

Disclaimer:
The format and the rules are subject to change if deemed appropriate by the CD Team.
