If the site isn’t running some sort of meme / ad campaign in Italy, S Korea etc saying the best damn game to kill time with under quarantine (or similar more witty) then need to rethink their marketing / social media presence.

That would be kind of a lie, wouldn't it? There are many better ways to kill time than Conquer Club.
I Joined wayyyyyyy on back in 2006 in the times of Wicked and spamalot and played regularly for years when CC fourms were treated as the wild west and games were booming. I dont really know when but I must have just gotten busy over the past few years and CC took the backstage in my priorities. I love the game of risk and play it as often as I can in real life (ya know with REAL dice that still screw you even when its 7-1) but didn't on here.
I dont know if it was any particular reason or a multitude of small reasons that I stopped playing on here all those years but I just logged back in this week (after trying about 9 possible pws till I found the right one) I kinda snooped around and really dont see too many fellas left that I remember other than andy and tgd and a few others. Is OP still even around? Anyway I feel like I have another good run in me here at CC things have definitely changed and im a little disapointed that timmed games are now a due member only option now but I suppose I get you want to give more perks to your paying customers and maybe one day I will be again but right now im just redipping a toe in the water.

I have seen lots of Italians, mostly in Guide Games. Also, a big group got together yesterday and got a Manual game going for some 6 Italians. That worked. I do not know if CC marketed to Italians, but we cetainly got a Big Group yesterday. My INBOX was full of Guide Game invitations too, about 25 yesterday.
That is one minor benefit of Coronavirus, imo.

we should see growth with a issue keeping ppl at home world wide. goal is to keep them playing !!! best of luck all in these troubling times we make light of so much on here but this issue could grow way out of hand, be smart wash hands often avoid high traffic zones like casinos shopping malls the list is endless. in Canada things are not as bad as say Italy but mass hording has started all major out lets are out of basic sanitary supplies and this is just the early on stages of the out break. many Canadians are forced out of work due to crowd control.the support staff at all nhl stadiums all low income workers living paycheck to pay check no have no pay checks and thats just the tip of the iceberg. i can say this is new to us all but want to wish you all the best in this uncertain time,
Maybe me only logging in once a day is having a beneficial effect

I have seen an increase in new players from Spain (in Guide Games) in the past 24 hours or so. I think Spain is now like Italy, in some form of a total shut-down. So it is not a surprise to see this uptick.

Yeah, limited data so far, but I think you're right. The two nations with the most radical quarantines are finding new things to do online. If it was one or the other I think it could be other factors, but being both makes me think you've got the right idea.
