Someone needs to talk to Joe

Post by HitRed »

Dementia and/or Alzheimer's effects a lot of families. My mother in law has it now. It is emotionally hard. Financial hard also. Many times my mother in law remembers her early childhood in amazing detail, yet doesn't always know us.

Sadly, its effects are playing out in public for Joe Biden. He is forming his transition team now, the election hasn't happened yet. This must be crushing for Jill. Someone needs to talk to Joe.

With all sincerity,

Perhaps you can get your voices to talk to Biden too.

So is this a thread about a devestating, horrifyingly awful affliction, or another political thread done in extremely bad taste?

And if you're actually personally dealing with it on a close basis, I am appalled at you sensitivities by choosing the adjective "hard".

There is a lot of families that do find it hard.

The National Institute on Aging uses the word.

When a person moves to the later stages of Alzheimer’s disease, caregiving may become even harder. This article offers ways to cope with changes that take place during severe or late-stage Alzheimer’s.

Thankfully, your situation is different it seems.

No, he is trying to indicate you seem to be too cavalier about the subject.

He is suggesting "emotionally hard" is not sufficient to describe how bad it gets sometimes.

Also it seems disrespectful to say Joe Biden has it as a joke.

This is a serious subject. Not sure where the joke is. It was painful to watch the Jill and Joe on TV last night.

I'm not going to suggest the guy is someone I want in office as potus, but I think he has better access to medical care than you suggest.

You don't just talk someone out of those conditions. They require full time supervision.

Carry on.

Remember in 2016 when the Trump camp was circulating the rumour that Hillary was dying of Parkinson's or something? Here we are, four years later, and she's alive and well and enjoying life a lot more than when she was in politics.

I guess spreading mean-spirited lies will always be in the Trump playbook.

Texas votes to create new dementia research institute in Texas. Prop 14.

I'll be voting YES.

"Proposition 14, if approved by voters, would allocate $3 billion from the state’s general revenue to establish the Dementia Prevention and Research Institute of Texas. The funding would support the institute for the next decade, with a mission to advance treatment, prevention, and research into dementia-related diseases."

Nice.

A supportive post and meaningless platitudes from a bot.

Still...better than a book written by justblatheronforfun
