seems like the final will start after your challenger becomes apparent, and after your game with your challenger. if both those steps get done in 3 weeks, i will be impressed. but i dont think i will be the hold up.

Hmm okay, I understand. Seems like we're in a zero sum game here. We don't have time for you guys to play out a 'just-in-case' proxy game to be used if you both make the finals either. And yes, the other matchup is currently moving at a pace of 1 round per day, and it's still evenly matched in Round 12, so it might still be a while.

I guess to be fair, I'll just let things play out as they would, sending out the invite for Reality B Round 4 as and when the other game finishes.

If theflycassanova wins that, I'll set up and send out the final game; and:

• if hopalong/sitter is unable to join within 48 hours, then the loser from Reality A Round 4 will be brought in as replacement (which happens to be theflycassanova as well); whereas
• if theflycassanova/sitter is unable to join within 48 hours, then the loser from Reality B Round 4 will be brought in as replacement.

The only alternative I can think of is that if you both do make the finals and hopalong is willing to wait, we could wait till theflycassanova is back after August?

I am away from August 5th (or thereabouts) until September 27th (or thereabouts). I will be on a ship far from cell and internet service for the period, and was hoping to wrap up all my games before I go.

The game I am in will be finished the following round - so the finals should start July 28th - which would give me a good week to get some turns in before I have to hand over to a sitter.
(there is also a chance I have some cell service as we work our way up the coast, and could play up until the 10th all going well).

So let's just get started as soon as my game is over here please.

However, as the finalists are unable to find an overlapping period to play their game, both parties have agreed to put the finals on hold till both players are back and have internet access.

i did tell the TO we could probably find times to RT the game before you go. I tend to be on 10pm+ EST. when are you around?

I'm on the West coast, so anytime after 1100 EST is fine. Usually around until 0030 EST.
And yes seeing as how you're back early, we should have no trouble finishing. I know we both tend to play pretty quickly.

Update

It's taken us a while to get here, but the finals were over in a flash with theflycassanova taking the win over hopalong after a hard fought battle.

More impressive than the result though, is the exemplary sportsmanship both our finalists displayed in wanting a fair contest, and being willing to wait for and accommodate each other to make that possible. Truly heartened to see it.
