Add surrender option

Post by Evan__Johnson »

Concise description:
  • allow players to surrender when game is clearly lost
Specifics/Details:
  • instead of dragging out the endgame (primarily an issue in trench), allow players to simply surrender and turn all remaining armies to neutral. Unsure how spoils would go - either disappear or go to strongest remaining player. Maybe make the action have to be approved by other players to avoid using this as a way to cheat.
How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • this will speed up the endgame in trench matches on a large map which can take 10+ turns to complete. And oftentimes the losing player has lost incentive to participate and misses numerous turns or is overall very slow to play.

I agree - the current resign option should be expanded.

About Surrender: while it is great when the game is surely lost and opens slots, it's TERRIBLE how easy it is to ACCIDENTALLY resign, so I suggest:

put an Are You Sure? when chosing Resign, so accidents can be avoided
I came back, was winning, then breifly losing due to opponents' set, but I had a bigger set that would have sealed the victory

Help me help myself, and don't leave it so easy to accidentally resign

It's a spam bot. He even has a link on his profile.

They're set up to pick a few words from the thread to form a sentence. Some are more nonsensical than others. This one is hilarious.
