New Map Suggestions
I'm bored and seem to have a rather large amount of spare time on my hands as all my games seem to be crawling, so I decided I wanted to make a new map. But alas I can't decide on what to do....I was thinking the moon or some other planet might be interesting or maybe the whole glaaxy or something like that. Any suggestions?

Africa, but that should be saved for someone who knows Africa well, no offense but i don't know how much you've studied Africa.
perhaps a map of our school? or a random school in general?
perhaps a map of the foods i like? i could help there....mmm cookies
perhaps a map of the funny page on Sundays
perhaps map of Boston(i always get lost there, and i hate cows for doing that to me, i hope somebody gets this reference...)

... There are endless possibilities. Ideas I've had include post Roman Britain, Medieval Japan, China prior to unification under Qin . . .
... Japan is problematic. It's too damned long and narrow - avenues / attack routes between territories would be quite limited. Not to mention you've got to turn the whole map 90 degrees sideways to fit it o a playable area.
... In the fantasy genre, Middle Earth would be interesting. I've seen maps of such already, actually.

Here's some maps of Stalingrad (now Volgograd) that could work...

(the second and third ones are in Russian, just to let you know...)
