Re: CCSL: On HOLD
Really frustrating that things get bogged down in the politics of all this.
It has been one of the best experiences of CC for some time, not sure why we are at this impasse, but it really suck.
Hope you guys can talk and sort it out.
Peace, Coyote.

Keefie and Shoop (and again Shoop) gave everything. Shoop gave 100% support all the time (if you think 100 is the end of the % scale..?). Because to me Shoop gave us 180% always. So big thank you to the GOAT - 5 time CCSL championshoop76 wrote:I have remained silent on this, mainly because I didn't want to cause more friction.
I believe that Craig and his team have done an amazing service for this site with the CCSL. It is totally their project and despite what people say the mods have no intention of taking that over. As for the disrespect by the mods, I can only speak for myself. As tournament director I have worked closely with Craig. Never had any issue. But, to say I do not support Craig and his team is completely false. I have given more than Craig and his team have asked for, though not everything has been possible. I am sure even Craig would vouch for this.
I understand the support for Craig and the CCSL, but I see a lot of responses that are based on half truths. I understand the support for Craig and the CCSL, but there has been a lot that has happened behind the scenes. I understand Craig's frustration and the fact that he feels disrespected. But at the end we all have to move on and the 300 CCSL players are the ones that are affected by the CCSL not moving forward.
I really hope we can move on for this, respect one another and work together to keep this event going.
I perso vouch anything Shoop posted here. Saying it as clearly i can: shoop his post is 100% the truth. And again: thank you Shoop

Thanks for the mentionI've been 100% behind Craig since before CCSL even started. imho Craig has been one of, if not the best Tournament Organiser CC has ever seen.
CCSL is great. Its perfect. But it has to run to be perfect.. 8 weeks on hold? Not running for 8 weeks? People will find something else in 8 weeks.

I'm down to play some random practice matches CCSL style with anyone looking to get their fix between now and when it's back - four random maps, flat adjacent foggy, may the best player winSoN!c wrote:Keefie wrote:SoN!c wrote:keefie wrote:

Re: CCSL: On HOLD
Maybe they will, but most of them will come back to CCSL, it's less than 6 weeks now anyway. Craig asked for 2 months break, he's had a lot to deal with lately both with real life and conflicts on CC. Give him some space and he'll come back and everyone can continue where they left off.SoN!c wrote:

Re: CCSL: On HOLD
Stuff seems to be cooling down some. I hope that is a good sign for the future of the Legaues.
I think there has been some decent points made during this thread and some effort to reach state of minds where opinions and people may be able to find each other and a way forward.
I dont think I have anything to add to my take, but let me get to one thing, that I think I neglected along the way:
Condolenses on your father, Craig.
Its always horrible to lose the ones we love and losing ones parents is perhaps the most horrible thing we all have to go through at some point unless we are unlucky or lucky enough to find the exit site ahead of them.
I think Ive neglected to mention this earlier because I still find myself withdrawing from these subjects when they arent immediately close to me. It digs up old but still relevant feelings and wounds that I still tend to want to push away even coming up on 10 years since my mother passed and 16 since my father did.
It sucks. Always. And in my experience its not something you get over, its something you carry with you while learning to live with it. - From personal experience it can entail some pretty hefty cracks in ones foundations even if you believed those to be fairly solid. - After all, your parents build those foundations for you and with you.
And it can take a long time to reach a reasonable place and come to some sort of peace with it. - Paraphrasing Fredrik Backman (who is Swedish, but I will hear no word against him because of that. He cant help it and has overcome that rather great mental deficit to write several amazing books) :
Death's greatest trick is to make the living stop living.
This can happen on and off even if one knows well enough that this is not what they wanted for you. Just getting out of bed can be a chore. I wish for you friends that will keep poking at you untill you get to a somewhat better place and even beyond that.
I hope for you that it will be infrequent that you see happy people in the street and your first thought is: "Bastards", but I think its fairly normal too. - It was for me at least. Its normal to hate your friends a little on occasion for their kind attention, caring about you and wishing to somehow help.
It does get better, or rather you get better. It takes time. Lots of things will help a little, but what is very individual and one of the most annoying things are people trying to help, when clearly no one can. - Sometimes its also nice that they try, most of the time its both.
Best wishes going forward - and if thats too hard then maybe sideways for a while, cause moving tends to be important - to you and yours.

Re: CCSL: On HOLD
appreciate your efforts!
Could not agree more with what you said...CC is boring without the Super League.

Re: CCSL: On HOLD
My God...is this what retirement looks like? I was honestly looking forward to getting away from the pot stirring antics and thin skinned slights. A bunch of grown ass men....
Craig, you made, hands down and with no exceptions, the best tournament I've seen since being here. You and your team should be proud of the accomplishment. However, if I were on the team and started to see my leader start to negate all of my hard work over some rando internet comment, I'd be upset and I'd think twice about future collaboration. So I hope you're all good with your co-creators. I hope you get an adequate resolution so that we remember you as the founder of CC's greatest tournament, not the founder responsible for disrupting the greatest number of CC's players.
Mods/simmerdude....I haven't read the offensive comment. However, if you did something, intentioned or not, and it hurts someone else....does it cost a damn thing to say, you know person offended. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. I was trying to make light of a situation and I can see where I did so poorly. Please accept my apology. Then learn from it so you don't repeat the same thing?
In this Brave New World of new things to learn, from pronouns to offensive emojis....we're all bound to make a mistake. The problem with the internet is that it's up there crystalized forever, whereas the fist fights of youth have long been buried and disappeared from time. So our need to ask for forgiveness and to grant it needs to evolve also.

Re: CCSL: On HOLD
The Super League is my main reason for playing as a paying member.
The group of gents that work on organizing a super tournament with Craig are awesome.
I hope everyone realizes how much it means to Craig et al that we continue to enjoy this great tournament.
Sincerely,
simplyred60

Wish we could all get on....there really are no 'bad' people in CC just silly misunderstandings and sometimes thin skins or (not known about) family tragedies making daft unwitting comments seem a bit cruel.
I really hate it when Craig and some mods butt heads when i know both actually want the best for CC and do amazing volunteer work for us all. Guys just get on even if the other side seem asses turn the other cheek.....if you can.
I really hope Craig comes back and we can play again. This is a bit sad now.

Craig came back for awhile, but he went on a 'F--- the mods' spree and worked his hardest to earn a temporary forum ban. He was handed that ban 7 days ago.Suppurator wrote:Any update here?
