Site Lag Update

Post by chipv »

Update from the site downtime from yesterday:

The update from yesterday's downtime will have caused some expected site lag and I have reports that it is noticeable, apologies for that.

The update was in 2 stages - yesterday's downtime was stage 1 and required the site to be taken offline.
Stage 2 will start at 0900 CCT today and the lag issues should disappear in the hour or so after that.

The site does not need to be taken offline for this stage.

Please carry on enjoying Conquer Club and let us have feedback after 1000 CCT in Post Site Lag Issues Here!

Did the update have anything to do with scenarios that were deleted from the Beta Site? I was working on about 20 scenarios. Now all but 5 of them are gone. I'd like to get them back for playtesting.

Thank you Head Tech chipv! My scenarios are restored now. I wish there was an easier way to get them playtested... the Beta players are few, and invitations to multiplayer scenarios take a long time to fill up.

When you compose a pm, on the right side, there should be a box where you can choose a certain group, one of them should be [Official] Beta Testers. You can add that group to contact them if you need people to test something in Beta.

Just wanted to comment - the first week or two, after changes I was very impressed with the speed improvements. Lately it feels like one move or two will be blazing fast, then the next two or three will be slow, etc. Today, from my phone each move was lightning quick. Other days, all moves are slow and laggy like before.

I actually have more lag from my phone than my pc or laptops. They always have some kind of lag. I actually noticed when turning my phone into landscape mode the rolls are faster and wondered how in the world that could be possible. But when I'm having issues on PC, I go to phone, turn it into landscape and rolls go much quicker.

Can't get into Central Command or games right now. Funny how the forum still seems to work. I hope when I clicked to start a turn it didn't actually start....

Edit: yes, my turn had started....

Should be resolved now. 3 hours have been added to everyone's turns so you may see numbers > 24 hours right now.

Thanks for the update! Much faster now. Speed games are running smoother, too.
