Waiting to start week 2 games-not a good idea!!

Post by tja6802 »

Due to my experience, also i played in last NFL tourney(triples), if you do what you are currently doing(waiting to start gamess after the week is done) will cause this tourney a lot of problems. Some games may take 5 rounds others could take 70 rounds. some games 3 days others 2 weeks. With your current strategy i guarantee you are dooming this league to failure, interest will be lost, other tourneys joined that are run better. Keep the momenteum moving. give a week once that week is over next weeks will start. So if or first touney started on monday you have till sunday to finsih, if not game can be finsihed yet next weeks game will be sent out and started. Also have a forfiet rule. that each team has 3 days to join a game once first pm is sent, if ot then their team forfeits that game. I believe if you institue these rules your tourney will find success as well as some great gameplay( i beliee this idea is an awesome one) Keep the interest up and the momentum moving forward dont allow it to stall. Oh and one last note

I don't think it has to end in a draw, but it shouldn't prevent the following game from starting.

I totally agree. No Draws but we need to speed this up if we are playing 16+ games. 1 game a week will already will take 4 months. Starting a new week each monday is a good idea to me.

I agree. Mandatory draws after a week just let someone who is on the ropes out by dragging out turns.

Starting a new game a week sounds okay, but note that there are a lot of people in this tournament who are not premium, so non-premium will likely need to keep 2 slots open in case a game doesn't finish in a week.

Looks like there are only 2 games still ongoing, with one just about finished and the other one has all premium members. I agree with the group that we should get Week 2 games set up right away.
