Conquer Club Wars (CCW)

So I was looking at the new Indochina Map and it somehow got me thinking about a new tournament idea. I don't know if its been done before, I hope not.

The number next to the title indicates how many players are needed. The map preceeded by the :: is the final map.

Example: Fantasy Wars. 24 players, randomly assigned to the 4 maps. Once a winner is determined for all 4 maps, those 4 players battle one another in the final map (Siege). The winner of that map is the winner of the Fantasy Wars.

I'm gonna run a poll first to see which one to start with. Maybe after they are all finished I'll run another tourny to determine the overall winner.

I'd also like to hear other ideas and game types (ie cards/no cards, forts etc) for the tourny's I was thinking normal cards, chained forts, sequential play...assassin for some. Lets here your feedback!

*UPDATE*
Once I get enough votes for a War, I'll proceed with that War. ie Ancient Wars would need 24 votes. First one to hit will be the first one out the door.

This requires 6 player groups. All 6 players play on all 4 maps, with the player with best average position in each group moving onto the final game. Sounds right?

So groups A-F each play maps 1-4, 24 games? 25 with the final match. That might be a bit much, any other opinions on this?

These sound like really good tournaments. But maybe have everyone in groups and everyone play every stage before moving onto the final one. For example,

FANTASY WARS (24)

Middle Earth
Space

WWII wins at the moment. And that front will only get better. Pearl Harbor will hopefully be fixed soon and more maps are on the way.

I think what he meant was each group stays together, so the 6 player group A plays each map once, then you rank each player in each game and the player with the highest after 4 games goes to the finals. How you decide what best average position is is up to you, but I reckon priority should go to wins, and if two players have the same number of wins, then second places, and so on.

Hrm...I think I like it, I'm not sure though. I was going for a one shot at glory kind of thing, but I'm open to suggestion. It may extend it farther than I'd like though. Each group plays 4 games, with 6 groups...makes 24 games to be played...and Terran Wars is in the lead, thats 6 maps for each group with 6 games per player (7 for the final 6)
It'll definately give a much clearer picture as to who is the best, but at the same time...you only get one chance to conquer the world :-p

Any other thoughts on this? like it, dislike it?

It's like the difference between NCAA and NBA championships. Both good, just up to personal preference.
