Freestyle option is stupid

No. While sequential is definitely more suitable for serious games (tournaments, callouts, etc.), one or two deadbeats can completely ruin them. While things will be slowed down either way, each deadbeat takes 72 hours out of a game. Frankly, I can only play 4 games at a time and I want them to all be active.

Meh - I hate playing freestyle myself, but I don't think it's stupid... although I think there are things that could be fixed to make it fairer in some settings, lack seems to be on the case though.
As many seem to be saying in this thread, one man's trash is another man's treasure.

Freestyle is a dirty horrible cheaters' game full of horrible nasty people who hang around to go last, and horribler people who'll hang around like vultures to go first if they think they can knock someone out and take his cards! (and it makes me feel dirty because I do it too)
But yeah, I wouldn't really use freestyle for anything except casual games where you want to be able to beat some friends in a lazy afternoon.

I think part of the reason freestyle disappointed me is the name is misleading. Freestyle implies you will be playing an improvisational, unpredictable game.
Unfortunately players have figured out how to exploit every loophole inherent to the freestyle timing system and play a very regimented schedule. The result is formulaic, pedantic and boring.

Ain't agreeing. I like to play doubles and freestyle for the exact reason that it gives me and my partner a feeling that we are actually working together when we can take turns at the same time. And yes, it gives us an advantage over teams who can't log in at the same time. But this is our strong side and I don't think that it's stupid. Though I must admit that I don't like the tactics that people use to make others miss turns and stuff like that (but at the same time I'm not blaming them because it's just another way to win).
And as it is said - if you don't like the low tricks that are used in freestyles or you just don't like how it works then you don't have to play them
Btw, I like this post

ehhh
i played a few triples games with my regular partners, freestyle.. it was fun, but we soon learned to watch the board to see as soon as the last of our opponents was offline and then blew through turns... after a few victories, it just wasn't THAT much fun or worth the points. we sit on skype and or the real phone during our turns as it is, the social aspect is what we are after conquer club. oh, that and kicking mucho ass!!! sooo, i understand why people like freestyle, but i think the outside factors and gamesmanship make it less about skill on the board and more about figuring out how to screw your opponent...-0

That's bullshit. Freestyle 1v1 is so much better than sequential because whoever goes first in sequential 1v1 should win.
And freestyle is the best.
Wait a minute! I thought that in freestyle last player can't play first in next round...
If I'm right, then you're wrong.

This doesn't make sense. In Freestyle you still have up to 24 hours to take your turn.
I play both, I like freestyle games because they can go quicker. I like taking several turns in a day as opposed to a large several player game that I only get to go every couple of days. Sure you can abuse (use to your advantage) the system, but that is part of the game.
