FEEDBACK Thoughts

Post by a2zsteve »

Hi all,

I am going to open myself up here to a few rants and raves, but I feel this needs to be said,. All the stuff below relates to game 1310670 and the feedback i left for ronc8649 & howielong. Please just ignore the players, this is not a vendetta against them but more about what is fair and reasonable.

http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=1310670

I received an email saying that: Reason for deletion: Not game specific

My reply to the feedback mods is below:

I left this feedback and it was deleted...What a waste of space this guy is, foul abusive and cant play for shit. Avoid this player like the plague. Plays in single games with his dubs partner and you can guess the rest....

2007-12-02 00:22:09 - ronc8649: that is bad etiquette shitbox
2007-12-02 00:29:51 - ronc8649: you are a fucking cunt steve
2007-12-02 00:30:00 - ronc8649: an absolute filthy cunt
2007-12-02 00:31:22 - ronc8649: just fucking stupid............noone likes dumbasses like that

This beggers belief....what you seem to be saying is its ok for someone to call you a cunt, fucking stupid, and then team up with his dubs partner in a singles game to eliminate another player and then leave me neg feedback because I sometimes wait to take my turn in a FREESTYLE game (note: never missed a turn). This is getting stupid that you can receive a neg feedback for choosing when to play in a speed freestyle game.

But god forbid you leave them a feed back to warn others that they are foul, abusive and team up. This is the thin end of the wedge, by removing my feedback you are endorsing this type of play but more importantly you are sending a clear message that it is ok to verbally abuse people on this site. Next time it wont be me it will be a child, who then goes and tells their parents and surely you a intelligent enough to know where it will end.

My Questions are:

1) Is it fair that you should receive neg feedback for waiting to take your turn in a SPEED FREESTYLE game? (never missed - just waited)

2) Do you think we should be allowed to leave feedback to warns others about foul and abusive players?

Look forward to your thoughts all

I'm on your side, but it is the only one I've fully heard, so that's typical.

well, i think its not cool to leave the silly feedbacks for that, but it does refer to game play that others might not like, so it wont get removed...

joining a speed freestyle game kind of implies such playing...its as necessary as the attacks themselves...

players can read it to decide if they want to play like that...

as far as the ones he wrote... I cant see how they are able to stay... dont seem to refer to any game play at all...

but i cant find the one that got deleted for you

But if you follow that veiw though AA, - to its logical end,

how long is acceptable 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, remember its only a max of 5 minutes a turn if no one is killed.

So in reality the neg feedback is because i did not go before them so they could see what i was going to do and stop it.

If you wish to appeal a feedback ruling, you can just reply to the eticket and someone else will review it. I'll take a look at yours later.

Easy fix; the feedback system is absurd and should be removed!

the only thing that you need to think about when you leave feedback is does it meet the guildlines

What about when someone suicides into you -- Steve.......... is that grounds for a neg?

King achilles is an idiot, and he abused the feedback system with me recently as well. Check out the "Is this fair?" post under general discussion.

Please take a look at the feedback left for me in game 1332566. The guy refused to finish the game off so I deadbeated and then he gave me a negative for deadbeating.

Point taken Scott.

To fix that problem, a simple click to the good old ignore list solves a lot. A fun part of the game is to trash talk, which I do regularly, lol. It puts a little spice in the game as well as a little psychological spin to your opponent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. As a result of this, players are more prone to leaving you a negative as apposed to nothing.

Some feel a mere disagreement between players is grounds for a negative feedback and based on this alone, I find the feedback system to be absurd. As long as you word a negative feedback properly (with-in feedback guidelines) it will stick even though it may contain no merit.

I don't know about you but when I join a game, I don't read the other players feedbacks to determine whether I should or should not join. I am sure some do but I refuse to not play another player based on what their negative feedbacks depicts.

With this said, GET RID OF THE FEEDBACK SYSTEM! LOL!

lol ....scott, as you well know I hit you both and left you both with the same amount of guys before i left a 9+ hour speed game at 2 in the morning.

As regards to my tactics......its real simple. if you have 3 people in an esc game with over 13,000 armies each and the next cash is 400+, there will be no winner unless a) someone deadbeats, b) someone suicides c) an alliance d) my tactics.

My tactics were to attack just you, therefore you could not attack me as it would weaken us both, the theory being you had to attack the other player to weaken them. This worked and brought us all down to 7000+ armies. If I had time I would have continued to do this, instead I suicided you both and left you both with around 4000 armies each.

I like the feedback system. And I don't want to play games with people who curse and whine in the games. So, if I'm joining a game then it's nice to know if people use tactics that aren't appreciated by everybody and if they can keep the conversation civil or not.

Same thing just happened to me as well. Jbruno autoed 90+ armies of mine when he had a total of 108 or so. I left him a neg for suicide and he leaves me a retaliatory one. Although it will get deleted, it's another classic example of how flawed feedback system is.

Not only do you get screwed in the game, you get a neg for doing absolutely wrong.................

i think the mods do a very good job w/ feedback almost all the time, but everyone is bound to make a mistake now and then.....

this case looks inconsistent to me. ron's feedback for steve should be deleted, as it is trivial. steve did nothing against the rules. someone left me a similar feedback this week that was removed for being trivial.

and i don't understand how they removed steve's feedback for ron. ron cussed at steve, possibly colluded w/ a player, and generally played badly (in steve's opinion). very very out of the ordinary to call that "non-game related" and toss it.

Can't really say on the first one because I haven't played any speed games. But I'd say as long as you get your turn IN you shouldn't

#2 I say HELL YES! I appreciate the feedback system and I look at everyone's negative feedback before I make the first move in a game. It can save you some headaches. Perfect example, check out this guys feedback http://www.conquerclub.com/player.php?page=feedback1&username=Q I figured I would avoid him like the plague the first turn. Good thing I did, someone else didn't and this was his responce in chat
2007-12-02 18:51:50 - Q: god damn. I have never had anyone hit me on the first turn of a 2.1 game before.
2007-12-02 18:52:30 - Q: who is the other player you are pulling the strings on here teal?
2007-12-02 18:52:58 - Q: or, should I ask "who is pulling your's"?
2007-12-02 18:56:09 - Q: get to the gamefinder, and find you another one to play, cuz ur done in this one.
2007-12-02 18:56:27 - Q: jezzzzzzzzzz. frekkin paranoid idiot.
2007-12-02 18:57:14 - Q: gl to tha rest of you. It's a four man game now
2007-12-02 18:57:25 - Q: thom and I are out.
