Ok..This is the thing..If every1 thinks speed freestyle is so damn easy to win they would play it no? It's not easy to win and i'm sick of seq ending in a hanging..I mean in freestyle u have the best chance of survivng if u have a set..While it is a bit more hectic it's also the most fair..Every1 playing at the same time makes it more hard to win and if any cant agree with that well...I assume every1 says dirty tricks cuz of the waiting game for cash-ins but thats part of the game...

How is it harder for you to win? If it was harder for everyone to win, some games would have no winner.

Speed freestyle is just a hectic free-for-all, gaming on who's got the fastest fingers and fastest internet connection, If u liike that style then ok... enjoy.. And risktaker there is a point to speed seq , if you have an hour or 2 to spare you can play out a game and still have time to make a coffee between turns.

i prefer seq to freestyle. mainly because i can't always get to the computer when i would need to in order to compete with the little tricks that can be used in Freestyle. sequential just works out better for me.

Cheap players play "freestyle" and master the art of dirty tactics to a "T". Also you need a really fast internet connection to play freestyle!!

I wouldn't say that Hulmey. Everyone has the same tools in making moves. Some are better than others and the ones that are utilize strategy and skill to break an opponent or really win the game! I do enjoy speed freestyle games more than sequential from the reasons stated above not to mention how hectic and stressful it is. One good/bad move toward the middle/end of game can make or break a player.

Freestlye itself gets a bad rap from previous players who used this style of game as stepping stones for the #1 spot although they cheated while doing so.

Players such as PooMaker, Prankcall, Scottland are the best of the best in this type of game. I've beat each of them once or twice out of several several games. Playing with these guys alone can teach a person a great deal, especially from Scottland, which without his tips, I wouldn't have won!

Get some friends of yours Hulmey and set up a private game to keep cheats out and try it once or twice. I bet you get hooked on them.

freestyle

Post by a2zsteve »

I tend to play alot of speed freestyle for a number of reasons.

1) Addicted to CC
2) dont like 24 freestyle as I dont sit at comp all day
3) Good fun
4) Travel alot and miss goes in 24hr games
5) Because they are public, some pretty poor player can join and if its seq that causes huge probs

But over all it a great way to play alot of games against alot of different people and pick up loads of neg feedback for waiting a whole 4min 30 secs to make your move......lol
mbohn2: f*ck you steve....now try and defend yourself against pink
mbohn2: and I meant that in a non personally offensive way....more directed towards your mongol hoard.....

I've played 24 hour freestyle only a few times. I find that it's like seq but with an added advantage to let others play first then take your turn after everyone has cards and ended turn. Most of the players only have time to take their turns once a day but the convenience of playing whenever they can is the biggest draw. Then obviously the more seasoned players take advantage of this and begin their turn after they all have finished.

Seq esc and freestyle esc are two different animals. The biggest reason high ranks play public freestyle versus seq is the hanging aspect. In seq a bad play can wreck your game and you have no to little chance of recovery. In speed freestyle-- that aspect is almost eliminated. You get crippled in the early rounds due to everyone chasing a continent but can recover with cards.

It requires a lot of skill to win in either game-- I don't think you can compare the two as they are entirely different games with many different subtleties. Each having many advantages and disadvantages.

As far as waiting almost the entire 5 minutes-- that's more of a defensive maneuver than an offensive one. It keeps all the players in check. Unfortunate but a requirement to play the game.

Thanks Code for including my name with the likes of Poo-Maker but I'm still a noob to the game. I'm at best a break even player in those games. I find myself making many many mistakes with a lot left to learn. Poo by far is the best with everyone a distant.... distant second.

I suppose in closing-- the only thing that Speed Freestyle Esc and Sequential Escalating have in common is that it's escalating = )

* There is one big difference and this is only opinion but I feel that a good Seq player can play Freestyle but not necessarily the other way around. Of course there are exceptions to the rule, for instance MHennigan can play Seq very well and from his record in Freestyle, it's speaks for itself. But that's not speed though so .........

** 18 of 32 in 5/6 man speed freestyle games -- so I've probably lost points :?

Agreed

I tend to agree with Scott..That a good seq player can play freestyle..However i seen many players try playing the same way they do seq..It just wont work people are in a madness to grab whatever bonus they can in the first few rds..Thx for the compliment Code but Im not as good as Poo..I prefer speed freestyle for the fact if i have a set i will be able to play it..How many games have ended with u having sets but it never makes it to ur turn..While some players will say seq takes more skill I wouldnt agree with that in the least.. Update *Scott funny enough the only game i did play with Mhennigan 804696 prior to the pivate games

lemme put it this way

freestyle speed is for people with no life, this is emphasized if there are 4 or more players in the game

sequential standard is for those with a life!

Herakilla! I thought we were buds! How dare you insult me with my love for freestyle. Freestyle especially speed has no tricks is completely clean, and more exciting and skillful than sequential. Sequential players are people who are too insecure about themselves that they refuse to allow people to enjoy a freestlye game. They attack it as if it was the plague.

lemme put some things out in the light

There ARE cheap underhanded tactics this is just one that really cheeses me off(for speed games)
-purposefully running out of time on the clock to prevent turn control from entering other player's hand (very common in no cards games)
speed freestyle favors those with the best connection. the player with a

T1 connection and fiber optic cables is the one with the best advantage. so in other words, the people with the money have a better chance

you can get stuck in a freestyle speed game for quite awhile if no1 is able to use any underhanded tricks to gain an advantage

and lets not forget the things that happened before freestyle got some help

forcing players to skip turns

all those negative feedbacks

all those whiny threads about how stupid freestyle is

and more but im tired
