oh and robinette is # 69

I'm # 69 again... I just seem to keep getting stuck in this position
69 Robinette 2499 348 114 (33%)
and 1 lousy point away from majordrom...

and presently only 55 majors on the scoreboard

Funny how things work out huh? That we used to be obsessed with # of points vs # of games and thought it would indicate our scores would only get higher with time?

Me, you, qeee, MM17.....what happened to all of us? qeee quit, he'd have a crazy score right now probably. Robin, myself and MM17 all topped out early. Then a few months later Maniac came back and score a few hundred points more than any singles player ever had. The scoreboard is certainly a fickle beast!

No one knows that better than Blitz though. He's been up to 4300 and now is at 2600. No doubt he'll be over 3500 again, but its a wild roller coaster of a ride!

For those wondering about point inflation at the top: I've collected data for about 2 months, but there was a big gap in December.

The average of the top 10 has increased by 60 points in 2 months with a upward linear trend, R^2 = .2895 (meaning the data goes up but its highly scattered)

Score of #100 has increased by about 30-40 points in 2 months, R^2 = .3051. Better correlation but still highly scattered due to a huge peak in the middle of Nov.

Score of #250 has increased by 60+ points. R^2 = .8769 meaning it has a strong linear correlation and clear upward trend.

I just started keeping track of #500 and #2500. Only 5 data points so far for each but they have even better correlation. This should all be expected because the score of people in the top 10 is affected by individual wins and losses which are random short term. On the other hand the score of #2500 is only affected by wins and losses of the community in general, because once you win or lose you are no longer #2500. That creates a highly weighted data point which remains steady and shows clear inflation.

I'll post graphs once I have a larger set of data.

lol... remember that 1st graph... with me way outta place... hee hee... oh good times... i had fun with that one... yes, we were just kids then...

it would be quite interesting to also track avg score as a ratio from the top... let's say the 80th, 90th, and 95th percentile...
i can explain why, but if you think on it for a few minutes, you'll get it...

the population of the site has also contributed to a much larger bulk of players that are very strong which we are beginning to see a little more parity perhaps.
